I was in a hurry to get out the door this morning so I forgot my watch. My guess on mileage is that it's about 4. First day of Wasatch back practice was interesting. I knew a lot of the girls were out of shape and for some reason we started out sprinting. Oh-boy. . . It was a really good run though me Kali and Monica ran together. 

Really excited to start XC! I found a whole bunch of good little runners that have been hiding about. I'm really excited for them to join the team! I went to Youth Conference this weekend. A boy from Ogden just moved into our ward. He has ran 3 marathons and some halfs. He will be a great runner. I've also found some girls that would be way good at running. We should have a great season.

First practice at Washington Elementary! We are starting things off a little different this year. We are doing a half  mile warm up barefoot on the grass followed by some core strengthening. I have been doing a lot of the exercises at home for the past 3 weeks. At least I'm sort of on the right track. After the workout is when we stretch, it is supposed to be more beneficial that way.

Me and Kalie went on the 5 parkway. We got good and lost. The run was farely easy to understand it was just when we got on the trail.We took a few wrong turns and ended up running the wrong way. The mileage ended up turning out okay. I don't know how far the "normal" route is but ours turned out  to be 5.2 miles and a few steps. I'm so glad we ran together. I can really push myself when I run with other people. My first 5 in awhile and it wasn't that bad. I had to keep remembering to relax because I noticed my shoulders were attracted to my ears. Overall just a really good run! Afterwards went to the gym and lifted some weights.

a.m - Coach suggested throwing in a double day today so. . . . .  we organized something and we did. Haley, Cassidy, me and Devin and Danny  went on a easy 3. I was worried I would be sore but it actually felt REALLY good. I'm glad I got to run with them it was loads of fun.

p.m - My first thought for this entry was 2 words. . . WEBB HILL 1 and a half x

Climbing Webb Hill - I did not stop on the hill once! I kept going!!!! I was so sore from lifting but I made it. Not stopping on this hill taught me one thing. I can push though pain and it is physically possible to keep going. It hurts, yes, but it's in me and I can do it. Sometimes when I get racing or into a hard run, I want to slow down but I know I can keep it going, strong! It's all a big mental game. A lot of times during the races I let it get to me, the only reason I didn't stop on that hill is because I believed in myself and I knew I could do it. I can bust through these mental barriers. Jeff told me that you hit a point where it hurts so bad you want to slow down. Every step you take past that point makes you that much stronger.

This might not make since to a lot of you but some how, it makes since in my head.

Just me and Cassidy this morning. We just went on a really easy 3, nothing big at all! It felt really good to get out and just stretch out the the legs a bit. I was a little stiff and sore this morning to start out but after the first mile I was good.

I forgot my flipping watch this morning AGAIN! I have this automatic alarm clock set in my head to get up at 6 a.m. You think with all the time I have between 6 and 7 I would remember to get everything I need! Oh - well! We started with a warm up bare foot then some core strengthening exercises. After we got all that done with we headed out on a run called grapevine, great vine, I don't really know.  Legs were exteremly stiff this morning, it was really hard to get going and stay going. I didn't really know where the turn around was (BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE MY WATCH) and I missed it by a little so I ran some extra at home to get it all the way to 5. Other then the legs and the watch I really liked gettting out this morning. It was nice outside and the route was nice. I like getting away form all the cars.

a.m -  I have to work from 4-8 tonight so I will miss running with the Wasatch Back team. 

I guess I am running leg 5 for Wasatch! That first leg . . . . .looks like a killer. I'm really nervous about running that first leg. In attempt to try and rid myself of the fear I made up a run with lots of big hills, and steady inclines. It hurt really bad!! The last mile was the only mile down hill. STILL NERVOUS!!!!

Ugg. . . .where to start? Not the best run for me today. My legs hurt really bad from all the hills and a little step up in mileage and weights. When we started my legs were very sore and felt like heavy brick. The end of the run was pure endurance. Nothing felt good stomach, legs, arms, so sore. I have never wanted to walk so bad, I had to stay so focused on putting one leg in front of the other. Oh - well many more runs ahead. Just matters that I got out today! 

I'm getting really excited I found another friend out running the other day so I will bring her Friday, she will be great!!!

a.m -  Two pit bulls running around loose this morning out in Washington. I was scared to death ended up calling my mom to come to save me!

p.m - Wasatch Back practices have been SO fun! I have really enjoyed them. Last year I didn't get to do a lot of them because I was out of town. I guess what we have done isn't new from last year but I find it fun and new. Some of the runs I would like to go back and do again! Today we went out to leads and went on this REALLY hilly dirt road. I loved it, my legs were way sore though. I would like to go back and try it again.

Can I saw owch! OWCH! Legs are hurting really bad. With the hill climbing for Wednesdays workout, weights Monday Tuesday and Wednesday, the legs are very sore! Dead, painful, owch! I am pathetic I was trying to do my hair after and my arms were shaking so bad. Tough luck!

XC practice this morning! I ran with Cassidy and Rachel P. today on the way out. I'm so glad I got to run with them, we took it nice and easy and just chatted. The team headed out into the desert today. I loved running out there. I'm so used to running in the same places I forgot about these summer runs. Cassidy and Rachel turned around at the 5 marker and I kept going. It feels good some days to just keep running. I'm not too fond of that run after that 5 turn around, Deep sand is not my favorite! Turned around at the 6 marker and stretched a little. I ran into Chandis on the way back, took her to the 6 and decided to run back with her. Overall just a really good run today. I'm really enjoying getting back into some bigger miles! Legs and arms were just achy today not so much sore anymore.

I drove out to Coral Canyon to run with Chandis and Kaylee this morning. Chandis ended up being sick so it was just me and Kaylee. The run was fairly fast we averaged in the mid 8's We hit two 8:11's at the end and an 8:21 and 8:24 to start with. The first two miles were all up hill. Going up was really painful but coming back down was fun! I had a lot of fun running out there this morning, it was very pretty. 

Overall it has been a great week. I have been really sore and tired all week from weights and what not. Hopefully I can take the rest of the weekend and just recover.

a.m -Mile warm , weights, mile cool down. I have been lifting weights every Monday Wednesday Friday. . . just forgetting to blog them.


I thought it would be safe to life weights today. I had a really rough weekend, hopefully it is over. Every once in awhile my shoulder, shoulder blades, neck, head, back, get all noted up. It usually causes me to get really bad head aches, sick and super grouchy. I took lots of IBU's over the weekend and tried to sleep it all off. I had my mom, dad, sister, who was available rub out the knots. Hopefully it's gone. Happens every once in awhile and is monstrous!


p.m -  Felt fine tonight! We warmed up to the bridge then did 16 sets of hard 60 seconds and 60 easy seconds on the trail. Not a bad little workout. . . .I'm not much of a sprinter but I put in some serious effort. After we finished up by cooling back down to the church.

Warmed up and did our core workout then headed out for an easy 4. Shoulders, back and head were so painful this morning. It was making me ultra sick. It makes me completely grouchy when I have to run like that! Oh -well I'm just glad it was an easy 4. Chanted the whole run to myself I feel good, I feel great, I feel wonderful. . . .  The actual run was a new one for me! I liked it a lot, anything new is always fun. I wonder where it goes too.  . . maybe a Saturday long run and I will find out!

Lately I have noticed how easy 6 has become to me. We started off and we were all going to run 5. Me and Chandis ended up doing 6. My legs just felt so good and I really like the whole loop so we didn't turn around. It was fun to talk to everybody about their legs on the Wasatch Back. I'm so excited and I feel ready. Didn't lift weights today!

Wow where to start. . . . 

Leg 1 - 5.1-

I was actually way nervous about starting us out.  I don’t really do that amazing on starting lines. It was actually not bad at all! I tried not to go bananas on this first leg so I could actually survive the 3rd. It was a great run. I didn’t feel tired at all, shoulders and back were great and the legs felt as fresh as new.  Avg. Pace 8:30

Leg 2 - 8.5 -

Oh my, this second leg was a real adventure. I got to run with Erica, one of our coaches, she is a fabulous runner.  She pushed me way hard and it was awesome. I hid some mid to low 7’s and a few really low 8’s . . . but I should mention it was all downhill.  I was doing just fine until mile 5. I started to feel really, really cold. My hands got really clammy and my whole body started to just ach. My stomach started to hurt. I threw up twice and lost everything. That one mile where I was so sick felt like 3. After I got it all out of my system I was able to pick it back up to where I was before and just go. I couldn’t have made it through this run alone. I had run off the road to go throw it all up and I sat on my butt. I wanted to give up. I was so sick and just shaking. I fell flat on my knees and prayed.  I wanted to suck it up so bad but I couldn’t. I felt instant relief come over my body, I was not totally better, the shaking had stopped and I was well enough to go on.  I finished still ahead of my predicted time and slept.


Leg 3 - 4.8 -

The last leg flew by. Everything felt great and ran smoothly. I struggled on that last half of the run but it was tolerable and my legs kept going.

I love running the Wasatch Back relay. I’m so thankful that I have the experiences I have because of my team and coaches. It was really a great experience and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. GREAT JOB TO EVERYBODY WHO RAN!!!

Easy fun run with all the girls today. We started off doing a loop but

stopped at the park and ran on the grass to make it longer. Knees and

shins are sore but overall not a bad run!

Warmed up late today. . . . I'm offically a bus driver and a wake up girl! I went to go pick up two and they were asleep and didn't wake up the others 2 I had to call and knock on the their door to wake them up and wait for them to get ready! Megan was ready!

We ran JUST a 5 today. My legs feel like slushy no mucsle bricks! I felt like I was sloshing in sand and not moving anywhere. Slow, slow, slow!!!!!

I was so thankful we were only running 3 today. . .until coach said striders after and ultimate frisbee as treat after that! I'm so TIRED! The run went okay legs came back for a minute and then disappeared. Owchie, tired and sloshy! When oh when will my legs return I really hate jello!

Longer run today out in Bloomington on the trail. It was actually kind of a pleasant. My left leg has been irritatingly numb since after yesterdays run. Other then that 6 miles felt really good.  The weather is still so nice outside and really enjoyed running somewhere different. I started running with Kara and Maddie which was really fun, although we didn't talk alot. Maddie turned around at 1.5 and Kara ran with me to 2.5 where we found some sprinklers and ran through them. Chandis and Kaylee caught us and I finished running with  them up to 3 and we turned around. Overall just a really fun easy run! Legs are feeling a little better everyday. Just need to work on the stupid left leg.

Honestly, HONESTLY!!!!! ARG!!! My alarm clock . . . .!!!!!!!! I was supposed to pick up a load of kids this morning and FAILED! Needless to say not a very good morning, I feel so bad! Drove to the school by myself and went running. Got the direction from the girls that were already back. \

Temptation has overtaken me. I have not shown a single dog in a LONG time. I'm pretty sure I will be going to California this week for a little while and Canada for 2 weeks. I don't know how running will work out or that I'll even go! I don't know I just need to go leave again!

 My alarm went off this morning ( I set 3)! We were off to a great start by even being on time, even early! Warmed up with the team and did our core exercises. Today we headed out and did the Park Way run. I really enjoy the run but I don't like that last couple of streets two days in a row. I started off with Rachel and we were going at a pretty good pace but my legs are sore. I lifted weights yesterday, first time since Wasatch. I ended up slowing it down a little and choosing to run with Coach Roberts, Cassidy and Rachel came too. It was way fun, some interesting conversations and all. =) GREAT run, it was really nice to just slow it down today and talk to everybody. 

6 striders . . . kill me!

p.m - 3 NIGHT run with a group of girls! My favorite time to run is in the middle of the night. We didn't run in the middle of the night tonight  but it was still dark! It was loads of fun. I was hoping we would slow it down and talk a little but it was another race. I don't know how this started. . . oh wait with me but we've got to learn how to control our selves a little?!
