This was a great way to start out the New Year! My dad and I went running on some river trails. It was lots of fun just to get out and run. It was so pretty outside today; it made it all the more beautiful. Felt good to exercise after all that Thai Food last night. I’m excited for this next year of running and hope I can improve!!

Missed running with my dad today!! I know I didn't run as fast as I would of if I was running with him. Felt a little courageous and did four miles instead of 3. It actually wasn’t that bad, now that I have a stable three under my feet. It was a little slower but not to bad. One of my goals for this year is to increase my miles, but not until I’m steady on the one I’m working on. I made a mistake last time ran to many miles to fast. So this time slowly build up to it. Today I ran over to Arctic Circle and down past the strip mall, turned around and ran back. It was at 3.75 miles when I got home so I did a quick lap around the block until I hit four. It was a great run! Avg. Pace 9:39

Went running all-alone again L !  I can tell I NEED my dad to run with me!! I ran a big lap around my block (1 mile) and was doing okay till I finished that and was on to my second heading to Arctic Circle. I decided I didn’t need to be working as hard as I was when all I was doing was training. Slowed down way to much!!! Saw my time for that mile and new I needed to get my butt in gear. The rest was lots faster!!! Finished at the hospital and my dad picked me up! It was a really fun run!! Some guy though called me a few dirty words why we were stopped at a stoplight. UGGGG that makes me so MAD!!! Fun run all the same!

Ran with my DADDY-O!! Wahoo it was a great run! We ran down 2450 and onto a trail and over to the post office. Mom picked us up….I was not about ready to go flying up the 2450 hill!! I’ve never seen so much wildlife on a run in my life!! We saw a few rabbits and other things…but there was a BIG FAT rabbit on STEROIDS!! It sort of scared me silly…my dad survived (I think). Avg. Pace 9:06 (better now that I have my dad!! We were a little more consistent) FIRST MILE 8:24 LOVED THAT MILE!!

Good thing I have a buddy!! I don't think I would have gone running today if it weren't for my dad. Funny thing is we both didn’t want to go running but convinced each other, trying to convince ourselves. It turned out not to be bad. It was a warm winter night, a little windy, but felt great. The whole run went smooth no problems for me. Its one of those runs that after you go your just happy you went! Loved running with my dad, although he confused me to death when he was talking about where we were    going…. Men!! But I love him cause he puts up when me…he’s a probably saying…Women!! Avg. Pace 9:21

OH NO...WE ARE GOOD!!! My dad and I went running on our usual run down to Arctic Circle.  I started out not wanting to go running, but went because that’s just what I do. We got out and started running! Why we were running I noticed my horrible attitude about running. I put on a smile and thought of the positive things it does for me, in my life. My dad has been talking to me about different things he’s read about running. One was that running is just apart of life, it just happens. I thought now I can run happy or I can run mad, one way or the other it’s going to happen. We jogged the entire run, felt like a few minutes. AND THE PRACTICE IS PAYING OFF!!                   AVG. PACE 8:12 ----I just about got a PR on my race pace....not even running at my race pace!!

Sort of came home on the wrong foot…..Life….. It wasn’t the running part; it was just a bad day at school. Flipped onto my blog space, read it, decided I need to be HAPPY, not only with running but with life!! I waited until I felt a little bit better. My dad ended up going with me and it was a great run. Felt good to get out and just run. We went down to the hospital and kept running to the post office and around there till we got 4 miles. I can’t find my watch and I hit stop too many times. First we thought we were just going to the hospital, that turned into the post office and that turned into run until we hit four miles. It was great and our times were great (not as fast as Monday)! All in all it was a lot of fun!

**Now that I’m looking back I don’t know how I went that fast on Monday!!!                 I WAS SUPERWOMEN!!!

Today was the best run ever!! I went to the high school and met some of the girls from the cross country team to go running with. We ended up running the trail run. Ran down 2450 onto the trail and over to the post office, where my mom picked us up. We talked the entire way!! We didn’t go all that fast, but I was more than okay with that! WAHOO!! I couldn’t stop smiling the entire run, and I probably talked way too much!! I loved every minute of it!

I’m not really sure how fast I went or how far I went either, but I went running!!  I started out just running to Arctic Circle with a few of my XC girl friends, way fun!! The only problem is I need to be pushing myself a little bit harder. Somewhere within my friends and myself I want to run with them but still be pushing. Not that they're bad and i'm good, everybody is just on different levels,and I really do understand that.I got back from Arctic Circle and didn’t feel like I had personally done my best or enough so I ran some laps! I was fast and it felt way good! The Arctic Circle run is 3 with 4 big ½ mile laps around the school made it 5 (maybe more?). All in all it was a good run and my legs felt amazing! I can tell I need to bump my miles up to 4 everyday!! I RAN HAPPY TOO!!

I went running with Kalli today!! I had a blast! We ran down on the trail, to the Post Office where my mom picked us up. At first it was really hard to get started I was so tired, the week is starting to take its toll. I started out sluggish (my body, my head was totally into it!!) After the first mile I was doing good that wore off about the last mile. All in all I really enjoyed getting to run with Kalli, it’s been way too long. Together we were way fast!! Avg. Pace 9:28!!!!

It’s really hard finding a time to run on Saturday. I want to run!! When you give me a whole day to do it, I put I off. So about 8:30 PM my dad, brother and I all headed out to go run the Arctic Circle loop. I started out way excited to run!!  The whole run went great running with my dad and brother. I do need to keep focusing on the positive things running does for me. It’s really helped this week and it sort of helped me tonight.  Avg. Pace: 9:18

Really fun run today!! Kali and I headed up and around the fire station loop, in Washington City. My legs from last week were sort of sore today. Kali kept me going though!! NO SLOWING DOWN!! I forgot what it felt like to run a few hills. Most of the runs I’ve done were little hills and had mostly down hills. I can tell I’ve fallen out of shape more than I thought but that means there’s room to improve. Once we got back to the school we ran a cool down, don’t want my legs sore for tomorrow, stretched really good too.  Avg. Pace—9:36

Another great run!! Ran with Amanda today! We didn’t get to run together a lot, what we did do was fun though! We ran around the school. I ran till I hit four miles. It was really tempting to stop running when she left. I really don’t like running at the school because you're there, you can stop anytime. I like going away from it because you can’t stop till you get to where you need to be. I was proud of myself for making it all the way through instead of stopping….self discipline (hahaha)!! Four completely unbearably cold miles today!! I am a BIG WHIMP when it comes to the cold!!  I started running and made it to the car wash when I turned back to call my mom. For a minute I was going to tell her to come pick me up! I ended up asking her to bring me a BIG coat, cloves, ear muffs, and anything else that might keep me warm! She also gave my the cell phone incase I would of got like hypothermia or something! The first mile I was against the wind. Cold wind going into your eyes = watery eyes = frozen cold face!!! The weather might have been bad but my body felt amazing running today!! I sort of took it easy though, as long as I was out running in the cold that was good enough for me. Today though on my run I decided running good wasn’t as good as running great and picked up my pace! It was a lot of fun today!!              Avg. Pace-- 9:34

After school I saw Kali and Sara and stopped to talk to them for awhile (XC friends). I haven’t seen them for awhile. Kali ran with me a little bit last week but haven’t seen her since L !! They both said they would start running next Monday though J !! After I finished talking I hurried out to where the team was suppose to be. Nobody was out there but Corey and Jeremiah. We never did figure out where everybody was at. I went off and ran five miles. At first I didn’t think I could make the whole five miles. I felt a little bit daring and did it anyway. The first mile was rough, my legs hurt a lot. After the first mile I was set, the whole run just flew by. It was one of the best runs I’ve had in a long time. I forgot my watch, but I do know it was five miles and I think that my pace was probably in the 9‘s. I tried not to relax and I think I had a pretty good pace.

I got to run with Kalli today!! I was so excited to get out and run with her!! Smiles all the way aroundJ!! I didn’t think anybody was going to be there… and there she was!! We picked the bank run. I decided as long as we got to run together, why not run for as long as we can! I enjoyed the entire run with her. She kept me going. I barely thought about my legs or body at all, I was laughing way too hard. At the last mile my knee hurt a little bit, probably cause how fare I was running. I love these kinds of runs. I especially love running with Kalli, she’s way motivating.

Before destroying a whole week of running I decided to take the day off and sleep (more like my mom decided for me, but I’m thankful she did). Been feeling sort of on the edge of being sick. Nobody wants to see me when I’m sick I’m a mess!! I’ve been relaxing all day (BORING!!), I think I’ll feel better and be able to run tomorrow?!!

I ran with Kali, Sandra and Sara!! It was so much fun to have them all out todayJ!! They decided to just go to hearts. I ended up running with them to hearts and then Kali and I from there turned it into the dog pound. My legs were a little achy but it was tolerable. It felt good just to get out and run today.

Ran with Kali and Jessica! Jessica’s new to running distance and she was amazing today. I didn’t know she was new and hadn’t run a lot before until we were mid way into our run. If I would have known we probably would have done a shorter run. She was real trooper out there!! We decided so we could all get a good run in today, that Kali and me would run ahead and backtrack to find her and push her along. It was really fun running with both Kali and Jessica. I had a blast!!! After we were done with the run I felt like I could just keep going, my legs felt so good!!

 I ran a warm up with Ruth and Amanda. We stretched and talked. Ruth left to go lift weights and Amanda had work. I ended up going to Arctic Circle. Ran there and back, the whole way there my legs hurt and half the way on the way back, at the end of the run they felt amazing though. Once I got to the school I just kept running the warm up lap because my legs felt good and I was in a good mood. Ran one after another after another until my watch hit 6 miles, and decided that was more than enough for me. I wanted to push myself on the hill and really dug into that too. I was on the crazy side now that I’m thinking about it. It was a really good run!! Avg Pace--9:37

Ran with Amanda, Kali and Chandace (I don’t know how to spell her name)!! Amanda and I went ahead a little bit (intense convocation).  The whole run just flew by. Within what felt like minutes we were done. I thought my legs would hurt today after yesterdays crazy run but they felt great!  Tomorrow Amanda and I are going to try 8 miles. I don’t know if I can make it through. It’s been a really long time since I’ve gone that fare. I think I’ll go and give everything I got as see what I get out of it.                Avg Pace--9:39 (first 3 were fast last 2 were a little slower making the average go up)

The impossible is possible!! I RAN 8 MILES, 8 WHOLE MILES, WITH A POINT .71!!! I had EFY way early in the morning, so I had to get up at 4:45 AM to run. Amanda met me outside and we drove to the end of Green Springs. Started running there and turned onto Sky Line Drive. We followed that road though till the old movie theaters. We turned left on the Boulevard. Took a left again and headed towards Sunset Tires.  Ran from Arctic Circle to hearts (D.I) and ran home!! I didn’t think I could make it but the miles just flew by. I’m glad Amanda asked me to go with her, I would of never gone that far on my own.

Thanks!!...I ended up with only 10 minutes to get ready. The whole process to awhile. Driving out to Green Springs, running, stretching and talking after, getting Amanda back to her car, waiting for my dad to take us back. I just got up at 4:45 to get dress and wait for Amanda, I think we started running at 5:15 or something like that. haha I thought I would have plenty of time to spare....not so much!! :)...4:45 is a painful time...not recommended!!

I know everybody loves the snowy runs but not me!!! I am the Grinch when it comes to running in any kind of cold weather. I don’t like the cold I don’t like the wind or the rain or even the snow, when it is cold. Well I do, but not running in it!! I ran with Kalli and Lacey up to hearts. A big 1.25 miles, I nearly froze my flanges (fingers) off doing it though. I really wanted to do 5, but I would have literally died attempting it. Oh-well at least I ran something today.

We took the kids back to DCFS today. We got back and my running goal was start running before I start crying. I really didn’t plan on running today but it was just the only way. I’m really broken down that they’re gone. Saying good-bye to them too was really, really hard. I ended up just running to Arctic Circle and back. I’m feeling a little bit better, thanks to the run, but I still miss them a lot. Avg. Pace—9:16 last mile-- 7:57

Ran the 2450 park run today with Sandra. I’ve been looking forward to running all day. It felt amazing when I finally got to start running. A little on the chilly side today, but tolerable. When we got back to the school it was 3.5 miles and my legs were feeling great and still had lots of energy.  We ended up going onto the track and jogging some and sprinting some. We finished with running a ½ mile cool down lap.   : ) fun, fun, fun!!!

**I think I’m going to try running a really fast mile when I get done with what ever I’m running that day. Maybe?

I ran 2.5 out to Green Springs and then ran the 2.5 back. On the way there it was a killer. I really didn’t like the hills but I tried to push extra hard on them to make sure I didn’t slow down. On the way back I was a free woman! Yea there were a few hills but fast, fast, fast on the down hills. Got back to the school still feeling great and just started running the big ½ mile loop. When my watch hit 7 I called it good for the day. It’s funny how when I’ve finish my runs my legs aren’t getting so tired. I think with this next week I’m going to try going faster.

I went running with Amanda today. My legs were really sore at the very beginning; towards the end they felt much better. We ended up running the hospital run but instead of going up Formaster we continued down to the Post Office, onto the trail till we hit 5miles. I called my mom when we were all done running to come pick us up. It was a really good run; hopefully I can run a long run tomorrow!!!

My sister and I went to Chuck-Up-Your-Grandma last night. I’ve not had that much food in a long time. We then stayed up till 1:00 AM leaving me 4 hours of sleep till I had to run. I thought it would make for an interesting run today but it wasn’t all that bad. We started off doing the hospital run but continued down to the Post Office, we then ran down towards Bare Foot Gymnastics. After that it was follow the yellow brick road or I didn’t know where we were.  It was a really good run but I think I slept through most of it though.

I went running with Amanda and Kali today!! The first mile hurt the back of my left leg but after that I was flying!! I love running with Amanda and with Kali but when you but them together it’s a party! Amanda sang to us most of the run till she ran out of breath; we went on to saying lines off of movies. Towards the very end all our legs hurt! We just wanted to get it over with so we started doing “Indian runs” which made it pass really fast.  Avg. Pace---all of us forgot our watches!!! Not too slow and not too fast!!!  : )

Just me and Kali today!! It took us a while to get started because we were waiting for my mom to bring Kali some running shoes. Once we were off we were off. The first mile hurt like the dickens, I’m learning that doesn’t mean the whole run will feel that way. I almost cut it off and just did 3 but I’m glad they stopped hurting at the turn off for the 5 mile run. Talked to Kali she really kept my mind off of things. I got this little burst of energy on the 4th mile and just took off. Kali as good as she is came right along. It was a really good run and I’m seriously glad that I didn’t sell my self short. At the end that burst of energy ended leaving the last .5 of a mile painful as all get out but worth it. Finished the run with a few bare foot grass strider things.

I went running with Kali, Sandra, Hannah, Candace and me. We did the bank run (5 miles). It went by so fast!! We took it nice and easy today just talking away. We started doing Indian runs again as soon as we hit the car wash by Foremaster. It was a great run and my legs surprisingly didn’t hurt at all. It all made for an awesome run!! We all wished we had Amanda with us to sing tunes, she’s the best!!

I went running with Rob today! At first I was way scared to go with him because he’s fast. I ended up deciding I won’t get any faster without trying. So off we went. My main goal was not to ask to slow down or slow down myself. It really wasn’t all that hard. Once the pace was set I was good to go. Avg. Pace---8:21

I went running with Amanda in the wee hours of the morning. My body felt a little bit achy from last night’s party and junk food. This next weekend I won’t be able to run because of the Denver dog show. But the next weekend I’m in bed early and eating a healthy dinner.

Slept from 7:20 till noon and then decided I needed to run a little more. I really didn’t plan on going farther but I did and it didn’t hurt at all my legs felt amazing. Avg. Pace –9:20

****For the longest time I’ve been wanting my sister to join the x-c team or track. Last night with out even asking about it she came up and said she wanted to run track!! Smiles all the way around!!  I’m going to bring her to practice Monday and run with her!! : )

****We went shopping this weekend and I’ve lost a whole pant size (not on purpose) or my mom and dad would ban me from running!

I ran out to the Washington Church. My legs felt great most of the run, it was just that stupid first mile. I ran a little less than a mile with Shayna but she dropped back so Arianna caught up to me and we ran together. Today was also the first day of track!! Lot’s of new faces and lots more friends to make!! Today was also my last day of track practice for awhile. I’m leaving for Denver, Colorado for a national dog show. I hope we stay in a hotel with a gym…..the next few days there will be no promise of getting runs in.

Looks like you could run tomorrow if you wanted. Most Hotels will have a workout room or Gym with a treadmill. While that is not the best, it is better than nothing. If that is not available enjoy a small break in your training. Hope you have a great time at the dog show.

NEVER BEEN SO MAD IN MY LIFE!!! I didn’t go to Salt Lake, I missed track practice, didn’t go to school, some boy messed with me and got in my way when I was running and my dog temporarily died!! I’m trying to make it positive but every time I try….Well it would’ve been easer to have a bad day. The positive is I didn’t go to school!! My legs felt good and I wanted to run fare but my mom said short and sweet. That would have been a positive if that stupid boy would have not been so stupid. Tomorrow will be better!!! I’ll be leaving for Salt Lake, I wont have school, That boy will life to see another day, and my dog will not temporarily die and my day will be better!

CPR!! YUCK!!! No I don’t know what happened. I was sitting here bloging and called her to me. She couldn’t get her whole body up. She got the front half up why the other half was down. She started pulling with her paws. I went to go see what was wrong and stood her up. Her back legs weren’t working. I picked her up and she went stiff. I put her back on the ground cause it felt so weird. She fell over. I called her name and she didn’t look at me wouldn’t respond to anything. She just lied in the same position eyes not looking at me, the same way I set her down in. I ran and called my dad. I was a little on the hysterical point. He told me to check if she was breathing. Her stomach was sucked in and I could feel really little movements. He told me to put her in the bed. I prayed and prayed. I sat there and rubbed her to see if I couldn’t get her to relax. Within a minute she came back too and was looking around again. Kept with her and got her up walking. It took a few minutes cause she was still not walking right. Another few minutes and she was back. I don’t know what happened, so I’m calling it temporarily died because she was like a stone not moving not looking around nothing at all!

BRRR!! SALT LAKE IS SO COLD!! I planned on running today but WHITE OUT!! Tomorrow we leave for Denver….If we can! The roads are way bad! We aren’t taking the short cut across Richfield because the roads are to slick. We’re going up into Wyoming and then down into Colorado. 8 Hours of driving tomorrow + some cause of the weather conditions. Hopefully I can run tomorrow depending on how fast we get the dogs loaded and when we arrive.

We Finally got here!! It ONLY took 16 hours total. But I ran a very fast mile today. We forgot our suits in the van and I had to run and get them and we and minutes before we had to go in the ring!!! I booked it!! Tomorrow I think I'll hide my Garmin in my suit somewhere and then see how fare I go in a day. I took 4th out of 23!!! Tuff compo.

I nearly died on my run today. My hip hurt badly I forgot to eat lunch and every step I took my knee was popping. I wanted to run so I just kept going. I just had to remember I could do a full stride so I did little steps. The down hills hurt badly so I took it easy down those.

My mom said if I wanted to go to track next week then I couldn’t go today. I was bummed out…. I don’t like threats. She said to give my body a day to heal. The only thing is LOOK at my MILES this week and last!! AAAHHH!!! Next week I have some big runs planned. J

I ran the hospital run today! I did a warm up and stretched and my hip was okay. I maybe what ever it was that hurt is gone. . . . WRONG!! The run felt good with the exception of pain in my right hip. I realized at some point in the run that I was focusing on it to much. So I did what Ruth said “think about your elbow.” It worked great but the down hill on Foremaster there was nothing I could do. Really fun run!

AAHHH!!! EVERYTHING IS COLAPSING!!! I was gone for awhile from school. Like a week and a half. I have a homework stack that’s still 4 inches tall!! I took a break from everything today school and running. I didn’t want to because running is my stress release. I NEEDED IT!!! My mom threatened my life too. She said that if I ran today then I wouldn’t run at all next week L. . . . Well better go do MORE HOMEWORK!!

My mom thought I shouldn’t run again today but there was no way I was going to miss track!!! We compromised. . . . I had to stay after school to get help with math when I was gone, and then I could go running. I was late by 30-45 minutes. . . .ARG!! I still got to run. Ran AT Dog Pound! I didn’t know what my race pace was . . . . It was really weird usually I know so I just went as fast as I possibly could. The funny thing is when I tried to go fast I couldn’t, my form went funny my arms scrunched up and hurt. As soon as I relaxed and stretched out my legs I went just as fast and it felt good. I loved today’s run.

Two one mile repeats!

 

I’ve started to take all my stress out on running. With the quarter about to end and all my absent work still undone I’ve been running like a chicken with my head cut off. I’ve been up till 2:00a.m most mornings and get back up at 5:00ish.  I’m trying to balance in running with my crazy schedule. My goal at this point has been at least kept where I’m at and not decrease. Today though I wanted to just stop and kick a wall. I didn’t feel good cause I’ve not had much to drink or eat and in major sleep deprivation and people who were better runners then me were walking all the way back!!!  I had to tell me self all the way back up 2450 that I’m out her for me and I’m going to push every step because that’s why I’m out here. And sooner or later I’m going to end up beating them. The tortoise and the hair!!

            I’m excited for this quarter to end….back to normal homework…..normal running routine + some….. Early morning runs….on time to track practice…..and anything else I’ve missed out on!!! Crazy run!!

Hurricane track meet 3200

I’ve not been sure about track for well….since it began. I’m really not that fast!! I finally got some sleep last night and woke up with more energy then I’ve had in a long time! I felt a little nervous knowing I hadn’t been doing as much as I could of but did the best with what I had done. I ran the warm up with the girls. I was at the starting line and I knew I definitely had the distance but as far as running on a track and speed wasn’t to sure of. I started off okay but not as fast as I should of.  I got so board of running on the track and fell behind just because I was not fast enough!! I thought I could have done better then I did!!! I’m a little angry at myself! I know now I need to work on my form and speed and lots of other things. I’ve lost a lot since cross country and that sort of made me way mad!!! Can’t wait for next week to PRACTICE, PRACITCE, and PRACTICE!!!!! I also don’t like getting my butt kicked badly so I think I’ll stick with track and get way better!!!

***I'm not counting as a race it was that bad!!

Hurricane track meet 1600

 

Yesterday was a bad day and I attempted to do my best, so I wasn’t planning on anything spectacular today!!  I decided to use my watch and set it so it would let me know if I was going to slow. I got there and it was out of batteries!! I ended up doing so bad I wanted to die!! I could of done way better.  I was MAD, MAD, and definitely MAD!!! My form was bad, my stride, my arms, and my speed!! It was so URGG!! This next week once I get home from Brian Head I’ll start morning practices and work on speed and everything else. And for practices, my life will be way better so I’m going to be able to put 10x more effort into it! Next track meet I’m going to do way better. I can’t let track and what not kick my butt like this!!!

We left for Brianhead today!! We went tubing and after that went swimming @ the hotel!! My mom and dad didn’t want me working to hard because we would be skiing the next day. I decided to go down into the gym and do @ least 2 really fast miles! I have issues with treadmills. . . I GET SO BOARD!!! I can’t watch T.V cause I’ll fall of and music goes in one ear and right out the other epically when I’m running. I ran the first mile and stretched and took a break. Then my dad came in and I asked him how to operate the dumb thing. He set it to a 6:50 mile pace!!! WAHOO!!! I ran a ½ slowed it down and then ran like another ½ mile! I really need to work harder!!!

WHAOO!!! The first time I’ve ever skied in my entire life and it was a blast! We started around 10:00ish and finished at 4:30 when the lifts shut down! L !!! We took lessens for 2 hours and I didn’t biff it once (I’m a natural!)!! Way fun the entire time! Came back went swimming again and headed to the gym!! I did a hardish mile to start with cause my legs felt like jello! Lifted leg and arm weights!! I did 160 with my legs (really didn’t think I was that strong cause I started of with 20!!haha)!! My dad came in again and showed me how to used it to lift with different parts of you legs?? FUN, FUN, FUN!! I never lift weights at home so this was so much fun!!! Did a lot of different machines and then did another mile of running for a cool down ran hard but easy at the same time??

Who thought you could get sun burnt when it’s cold outside??? OWCH!! I’m a freaking lobster! It hurt so bad why I was running today because my shirt was rubbing against my neck. I thought I might die!! I tried to minimize my shoulder movement but it was still rubbing. I was hoping that pain would go but of course it stayed!!! Oh-well. . . . .Since I was running on the ground I tried to work with my form (leaning into the run a little, stretching out my legs, pushing off the ground harder and what not). My legs were a little stiff but didn’t hurt at all why I was running!! I also tried to run faster!!

So fare I’ve not run a lot but I’ve not run as hard as I have in awhile. So I guess I can smile : ) . . .but I do want to get up to 30 miles a week again soon!!

I feel more like I’m off to the right start this week. Coach talked about quality is more important then quantity but quantity is still important. Before (the 3rd quarter homework killed me) I was trying to run on the “state” level, sort of has you running more miles. I can go the distance but the quality isn’t all that great. I cut back a little bit today and did 6 in stead of 7. Doesn’t sound like a big diff but it is. I really pushed on this 6 concentrating on speed and form and anything else that managed to pop into my head. The first couple of miles didn’t get recorded on my watch cause it wasn’t finding where I was at and I need to be out running. I was the last one off cause I had to go but my watch charger into my backpack!! I started out with Lacey Rachel and Kalli, they ended up dropping out quick. I really wanted to run with somebody and I couldn’t see anybody ahead so I ran as fast as I could till I saw Monica. Those were some quick miles. I caught her on the sun rise tire hill and darted up (OWCH) made it to the top and was a little winded but kept going with her. It was fun we tried picking up are pace a few time too! I loved running with her cause we pushed each other. The last mile was a real killer for me, form fell a bit, but no way were my legs going to give up on that last mile. Pushed it in. I finished and am way happy!! I kept a 9:00 avg. pace….that’s way good for me!!

**way extremely nervous about the meet. I’m pushing harder at practices but it doesn’t all come at once (bummer)!! :)

Started off a little late today because some of my x-c girl friends surprised me!! I talked to them for 5 to 15 minutes really didn’t keep track. They were going to join track but it’s too much $$!! I’m really quite sad about it. . . I don’t have a lot of friends on the team and with the track meet going as long as it is it would’ve been nice to have somebody to hang out with. They’ll still be running everyday though! Everybody was fare ahead by the time I started. Passed Kareena up and caught up to the boys on the starting line. I started before they did but not much. When they went whooshing past me it helped me pick up my speed…first mile was 7:33.…2nd mile 7:20!! I felt sick the 2nd mile. Ran back up to the school. Tried pushing hard on those hills. I almost caught up to the girls that started way before me. I didn’t spend much time resting. Mostly a hard run. Lots to think about. Really mad that I won’t be able to run with my friends!!! And still nervous and not to excited for this next track meet!! Still trying to smile :)

Keep working at it . . . you were right in a previous blog. It doesn't come all at once. Your splits on the miles were great. Remember you are at the beginning of the season. Improvement will come if that is what you want.

Missed practice today because my mom scheduled an appointment. I enjoyed running alone today. . . Not a lot of days like that but today was a good day. Mostly talked to my self. I kept it at a really easy pace. I tried lying to myself about the race (didn’t work)!! Well I’m as nervous as ever…I’ve tried calming down (doesn’t work). I’ve put a lot of effort into the practices I’ve been doing… and tomorrow I hope it pays off. . By seconds!! Anyway quick run down to the post office and on the trails then my dad picked me up on his way back home from work.

I couldn’t stand school at all today. I thought I was going to die. When It came time to get on the buss all my butterflies from all week left!! If that’s all it took why didn’t I get on a buss sooner (haha)!! Sort of bummed around because ours was like the last (ish) race. Stretched ran a little and just chilled out with some friends. I wasn’t even paying attention when everybody was lining up so I threw off my jacket quick and got on the line. It was all pretty fast. I wish I didn’t take off as fast as I did or at least of held onto that pace longer. It was fast and I can’t remember much or even what I was thinking….Lala land!! After I was done with the race my arm was all torn up from rubbing against the shirt…that hurt….only feeling I can remember. My shoulder was weird too!! Oh-well-----it was a good race and like always after a race I can’t wait for more practices/races!!!  BETTER!! I also PR ed I think?? My time I got off my watch so its unofficial (but it’s pretty darn accurate!!)

Mmm…. Today’s workout was a killer!! Well its basically all my fault though. I didn’t eat breakfast or lunch and then I tried running. My legs were fatigued and then my body was too from the lack of food (sort of felt like jell-o)!! I thought about skipping and running the workout later but I would probably end up not running. I crawled up to hearts and really began seriously thinking about turning back but I didn‘t. I hit hearts and picked up my pace as much as I could, for the AT part!! I got all the way to the dog pound with little problems but then my stomach started turning in circles!! ICK!! I dragged my self all the way back to the school! I was puckered out! It was actually an okay run!! I even listed to my stomach speak in foreign languages! :) **never go home and eat lots after you’ve been starved , makes you sick, sick, sick!!! **and never starve your self!! :)

But she just took strands of hair and wrapped it around the curling iron and held it and then clamped the curling iron shut. **don't role the hair up like normal . Does that make since?

I was so sick in 4th period I thought I was going to die in my seat. I was about to call home but just decided to try and tuff it out as long as I could. The plan was I would finish school and then go home and crawl in a corner and cry. But I got to thinking and thought I might go run the warm up and stretch just to be there! When I started running the warm up my stomach got worse. Stretching felt good but I still was feeling in the dumps. I decided I would run even if it was really slow. Turns out when I started running my stomach started to settle. My legs also felt good from a long weekend break!! I was flying!! I wanted to stick with a friend so I would run ahead and then turn back. You might as well say I could have been doing back flips in the air it felt so good!! Ruth passed me on the way back and I picked up my speed right after her! Sad to say you can’t go from being where you are to amazing in one day so I did my amazingness and pushed hard!! It felt so good. This run was a reminder of why I love running so much!!!

I don’t know what’s happened to me this week I’ve just seriously loved running! Today was Pyramids ¼ ½ ¾ ¾ ½ ¼. We did a warm up down to the trail and then started. I would let the girls I was running with take off and a few seconds later I would. It helped me push to catch them!! I had this weird feeling to wait for the last girl that was a few minutes behind us.  The other girls I was running with didn’t want to and took off. When I got to her she didn’t look so good and was about ready to have a come a part. She was dehydrated, dizzy and her stomach was hurting. I kept doing my pyramids at my pace and would turn back when I finished to help her out. We made it to the end of the trail!!! I should of called for somebody to come pick her up or went to a random house to get water but I didn’t. I ended up staying with her up the 2450 hills but then I needed to push myself still. So I went ahead and just kept her in eye view. I turned around a few times too. We finally made it into the school. I was a little mad the other girls didn’t stay and help me out but we all survived && I still had fun and pushed really hard!! :)

Today we did HILLS ( I love those things) !! I ran 1.5 out to it. I was a little sore in the beginning but I loosened up quick before we got there. I had a good pace for today why running up it (I think). I tried to push really hard towards the end because thats the part that really counts. It felt really good! Finished up my 4 and ran back. All in all it was a nice run!!

***Guessed on the mileage?!! Looked at what everybody else go and guessed!

The Mile - - - I felt ready for this week mostly because I've really been pushing at practices. I didn't stress that much this time. I was the only one from my team racing in the 1st heat. The first lap was fast and I stuck with the front group of girls. The second was pretty consistent with that. The rest gained quite a few seconds and fell behind. I thought I did bad but it ends up I got a PR!!!! 7:18 or 19 (my dads watch)! I'll work on the last 2 laps of the mile that will help my time a-lot!!

Hung out with Pace (a really good friend, Dixie track coach) the rest of the day. She gave me some really good tips for the 4x8. She taught me a better way to do the pass of too! Then I went and ran around for a little while.

4x8- - - By the time it came to this race I was tired!! But funny thing I wasn't even that nervous. I figured I would run my guts out and what ever happened, happened. I remembered what my dad said about this being just a learning experience. 1st time around not so bad started out with the girls and slowly but surely started to fall behind them. I felt like I was running as fast as I could go!! The 2nd lap was all endurance my stomach hurt I couldn't breathe and I was choking on something! I was a little mad when I finished. I felt like I let my girls down! I think I'll work on the 4x8 and learn how to kick butt and improve! :)

I didn't race today. I chose to go up to Salt Lake to attend the General Young Womens Broadcast with my young womens group! We left here around 6:45 ish.....my body was so tired and weak. . don't know why?! I slept most the way up! We did activities around temple square before heading to the conference center. There we had great seats, we sat so close to the front!! The whole meeting was great. The feeling there I don't think I'll be quick forget especially when the prophet walked into the room. It was amazing to actually be in the same room as them. The feeling was so different live rather then watching it on t.v. On the way back home the girls decided to party in the 15 passenger van! haha.... I was awake till we hit the freeway and slept solid all the way back home! Great trip and an amazing experience I hope I never forget!! I also got 16 1/2 hours of sleep!!! I think Mondays running will be energetic!!

My legs felt so good today! I was just ready for anything coach decided to dish out. Funny thing is he said we only had 5 easy miles (hahaha) I was getting ready to puke and he said easy!! It was actually pretty fast for me didn't feel it at all though. I was in a good mood till the end of the 2nd mile all the girls cut out this loop!! MAD MAD MAD!! When they're beating me in races and not doing a full work out EVER then I get really mad! I try not to let it bug me but . . .it does!  If they're going to beat me they better deserve it!  Oh-well better for me! Now I'm happy! :) Life is good, run felt great, I even got to see some of our kids and they're doing great!!!

Woke up at 5:00ish to go run with my dad :) !!!!!!!! I was so I happy I barely get to run with him! Todays work out was six 800. hahaha I thought it was a bad dreaming racing it once haha try racing it 6x. . . . not that funny!! My grandpa was a x-c coach for awhile and my dad does a-lot of running so he coached me along. He would tell me how to run and fix my form! He gave me different places to work at, like on the straight aways. It was really good having him out there with me!

I've had the best day EVER!! I got to go running with Amanda & I passed my math test! We ran to AC and back. She vented (thats a good thing) it kept my mind busy (haha). I love running with her because every run seems to be a new adventure! Didn't really push too hard because I have a meet tomorrow :) ! ! !  My legs seemed to be on the tired side, not really sore though! It was great even got to run through the sprinklers!

Didn't feel like much of a race today! I'm drained, I've not even done anything to be drained but I am. I'm so out of energy I've felt like a lump all day. I just couldn't pull it together today. I PRed in the 1600 but I felt like I could of done better. Pretty uneventful track meet. The end was the worse with the 3200, I just had a hard time fighting it through that one. Just tired and exhausted and wasn't in the racing mood! My lungs and throat have had it I've been coughing up crap!! Welp. . . this definitely has not been the meet of my life but o-well life goes on! Looking on the bright side. . . .Next time I'll be breaking 7 in the 1600 WAHOO!!

Did dog pound AT today!! Jogged up hearts and then had a nice hard steady run to Dog Pound. It felt really good just to stretch out my legs! We slowed the pace down a little as we hit the hill but not too much. Legs were a bit sore but otherwise I was really glad to be out with my friends running and past glad to have that race off my shoulders!

1/2 mile warm up and then took off on this new road to Washington?!! It was really fun and easy going today. Really enjoyed just running around the neighborhoods when I got lost. Sort of made up my own run today. I hit a really bad wind coming up from the dog pound and got dirt in my eyes. Holy matrimony of tears streaming down my face, it stung so bad!! Today was so weird! It didn't even feel like a race. I wish we would of just done a speed workout but it was fun just to bum around. I ran the 1600 in the distance relay. Everybody was already a lap ahead of me before I even got it so I was racing on my own. I really pushed it on that. Funny thing is I don't even know my time!!! :(  Then I ran the 4x8. It was all fun and I loved the girls that I got to run with. Had to leave right after that race for a dinner and awards something or another.

4.5 with  this afternoon with a girl on the team! Sort of just made my way through it. I missed running with Amanda! ahhh. . .It was so boring. My legs hurt along with my throat and my head! The girl I was running with kept taking off so I finally just did my own thing. I really don't feel good so I think I might go to bed now!! Hopefully I can breathe tomorrow at the meet!! I didn't feel good at all today!! I have a bad cold and my lungs are on fire from all the coughing! Today at the meet I had an especially hard time racing. I ran .5 to warm up for the 1600. I was sort of excited for this because I wanted to PR sooo bad! I think I might of by like a second but not at all what I wanted. We got on the starting line and I was behind some girls because there were so many in that heat. She didn't take off nearly as fast as I wanted too so that really I think effected my time. I had to run clear out into the fourth lane to to get where I wanted. Next time I want to get a really good place so I can just take off. It was hard pushing through this race. Breathing hard hurt along with everything else that was achy. I felt like I raced hard though! After that race I really didn't feel good. Lost tones of energy as I waited for my next race (3200). It was bone chilling freaking cold by the time we got around to it. I was starving, cold, body aching everywhere and not feeling good at all. Ran it with what I had left in me. I don't even know my time on that. We left after that!! I'm glad I didn't wimp out and not race at all. I felt like I gave it all I had. Hopefully next week I'll be feeling better!

I skipped first period today!! By the time I got home last night I was done in. I ate dinner but It was to late and that only made my stomach upset. I had end of levels today so I got to school at the beginning of 2nd and then just toughed out the rest of the day. I really don't feel good, yesterday was a shot in the foot. I was going to run today till my mom decided to take my shoes. My dads and grandpa have been sick almost 4 weeks and she doesn't want me sick that long!! She said if I don't run today that I can go on a long run tomorrow! :)

 

**haha!! My dad let me sneak in a few miles running to my brothers baseball game! My legs were sort of the only feeling amazing. I ran with my sister too! We made it about .7ish when she didn't feel good at all and had to call home. That was her first time out running. Makes me remember when I first joined cross country, and how far I've come since then!!

Today was an interesting run. It started out really bad! The heat was harsh, my stomach was sort of upset and my legs totally fatigued. That all lasted about half the run. At the 2.5 mile marker to turn around we found some shade and tried to relax. As soon as I stopped things just got worse so we started running again. My legs and everything else eased up on the way back, that was nice. We also found a little river thing and decided to jazz up the run by jumping into it and splashing around. What was a bad run turned out to be really fun!!! Hopefully the heat will let up for tomorrow!!!!!!!

AM: I woke up a little late but still got up! I hurried over to the school but Amanda wasn't there. I thought I had missed her because I was a bit late. My mom wouldn't let me run alone so there was no run. :( . . . man morning runs are nearly impossible!!

PM: I wasn't nervous at all for 400 repeats (thats a first). I ran a 2 mile warm up on the DI loop. Then we started in to the 400 and found out we only had 6 of them!! Wahoo!!!! We would run one jog for a minute and get back on the line and go, it was all pretty quick. My goal pace was 1:30 for numbers 1,4,6 and I hit them all and even under by seconds (hahaha)!! The others we were just needed to be running at are current mile time but I ran under that too!! Good run!

Didn't make it to track practice today because I had to watch the kids! They're leaving tomorrow. . . sort of mixed feelings. Besides the babysitting I ran into a bunch of problems!!! I took my sports bag to school thinking I wouldn't be going home. Well . . I did go home and it's still in my locker with my only pair of running shoes till next Monday!!! I think this is the perfect time to go get some new shoes. Oh-well. . . I ran 2.65 at an AT pace to my brothers baseball game, in my cross-country racing flats! It was hard, my legs were a bit sore and the wind was blowing against me. Pushed hard though!!  Got there cooled off, put on some sweats I stuffed in the car and watched the game for a minute or 2 before heading back. I wasn't planning on running back but I needed the miles. I jogged it back nice and easy and just enjoyed running.

Hills!! When I woke up my legs were sooo sore! I don't even know why because they shouldn't!!! I had a hard time motivating myself to get out the door to do hills, when it felt like my muscles were going to pop out the back of my legs!! I finally made it out and thought I was going to die on the first mile. My legs didn't even feel better when I hit the hill! I was nervous because I wanted to do all of them. My fist one I ran too slow because I was trying to conserve energy to do all five of them. Once I was about to start on the second one I remember what coach said when we were doing repeats "Don't conserve your energy because there will always be something else to give". So I ran as hard and as fast as I could and made it through all five. My legs hurt really bad the whole time but I had to keep telling myself I could do it. I'm so glad that workout is over because it hurt!!!

I got to run with Haley today on my long run!! We were both glad we didn't have to run alone today. It was nice to have somebody to push with. We started out running the dog pound run but turned onto the new road and followed it over to the springs. It looked and felt a lot longer then it is, probably because the wind was bad! Man did we hit some bad wind today! It was so powerful and most of our run we were running against it! I think we could of run faster and a bit longer if we didn't have it but it gave my legs a great work out! It was a great run today and I really enjoyed it!  :)

*Avg. Pace .. . . . .9:35 (this was a great pace for a long run and against the wind for me) :) We even hit a 9:03 really good run! :)

 I forgot my socks today so I had to run home quick and still was a little late. I was ready for a long run today but it was speed work. I wasn't mentally prepared for it. I don't know, you just can't throw me on a line and tell me to run my little legs off, so todays run wasn't the best. I ran a 2 mile warm up with Haley and my legs were just fine, I was a little nervous about that. Got back and just didn't feel ready. I tried to my best ability but my legs wouldn't move, my head wasn't with me, and I was just tired. It just didn't happen like I wanted it to, I'm a little disappointed in myself too. It scares me to not being able to run a speed work out great and having a meet tomorrow. O-well, I tried, now I just have to pick myself up and get with it. 2x1200's 5:05 5:25 :(

I WANTED a good time today!! Mainly to brake 7:00, and I did it!!! I wasn't to nervous before the race started today. A few things helped me PR; a good starting place and racing shoes. I wanted a good place on the line and I got one! Last time I couldn't take off the way I wanted. Coach said to be more aggressive on getting out there. So I got a good place and as soon as that gun went off I shot off to get a good place. I usually run in my normal running shoes but today I decided to use my xc flats. I heard Ruth saying how much heavier her shoes were to her racing shoes (how true)!! My first lap I pounded out with a 1:25!! The next. . . .Well I don't know about that one, no feeling 3:03. The third one, I felt a bit slow and didn't think I was going to get my time. At first I thought about slowing down but then I just kept pushing it. The last lap I was dead!! When I passed coach he told me to dig it in and that my time was great!! Wahoo!! I decided to pound this one out hoping for the greatest time ever! I wasn't about to let 3 laps go to waste because my legs were hurting! And BIG pr!! I shattered my 7:04!

**I wanted to race 3200 sooo bad because I was in a racing / bring it on mood but I had to be somewhere else :( . . . .Went out to go and try to get in more speed work for the night but my lungs are way bad and my mom said 'no, not till your lungs heal'!! My lungs are either sick or racing is slaughtering them! I got to figure whats causing all the coughing up crap because it hurts and it makes it way hard to run the next race! **my mom and dad weren't to happy with me, I didn't drink anything all day. They said I better start drinking. . .. or else! I think I'll choose the drinking because today I felt like a dried up grandma!

Woke up way late this morning!  I didn't have time to grab anything including my running clothes so I was late to practice!!! I'm starting to feel dead! O-well. . . . I was talking to my mom on the way over to the high school and she uplifted my mummy stages and told me we were getting a little girl back!! Her name is Sierra just like mine, it's cool but it all gets so confusing! I'm so excited, she was so cute! She'll maybe only be her two weeks but it'll be tones of fun. Made my run 10x better hearing about her coming back! :) It was the start of a more positive day. . . I hope! :) 

**Need to get lots of sleep tonight so I don't kill over tomorrow! :)

SUU track meet today! I was thinking about this meet all last night, I was so excited for it. I wanted to PR sooo bad! We usually run the 1600 first so then I'm worn when the 3200 comes around. It didn't turn out at all like I planned. It was the longest race of my life. By the time it came around at 7:00 all the excitement and energy was gone (bed time), it wore off within the first 10 minutes of being there. I started off good one the first few laps but then slowly it felt like I was running in sand! I was way excited when I finished hoping I would have a good time :( not so much. Sort of had this weird pain in the back by my ankle - not like soreness?! Tomorrow I want to kick butt!!

Drop dead tired this morning! I rolled out of bed put on my uniform and out the door. I slept some on the way up but not much. We got there and did a warm .5 warm up. It took forever to get our tags and to top it off it was freezing cold. We jogged around quite a bit. I was so excited for this race because the last one. . . wasn't so good! We got on the line I had a good spot and was ready to take off and I did just that (hahaha)! I did great on the first and the second but when I went into the 3rd rrgg so frustrating!!!!! I had this horrible pain (found out later its like akilies tendonitis or something weird like that. It hurt yesterday but not nearly as bad as today. I couldn't get up on my toes, it hurt sooo bad! Usually I can push through soreness and fatigued legs but this was painful. I went off my toes and just tried to run as fast as I could. It was so frustrating!! I had 2 good laps and I was dieing for no reason! I was so, so mad when I finished. I sat down for a bit got up to walk and it hurt to pick up my heals. I thought they just tightened. I got my cell phone and went for a run to go call home and vent. Man am I was sooo mad. My PR earlier this week was 6:48 and today I hit in the 7:00!!! Finally went and talked to coach when I settled down. Ice and Ibuprofen and then go kick butt at region! Wasn't happy at all with this weekend, make me more determined to work really hard this week and race harder the next.

After a party Saturday night me and some friends went to the St.George temple visitor center. Found out they have a limited time statue thing and took the tour. It was sooo cool! I'm going again tonight with another group of friends! Anybody who's in St.George should go check it out (if they want to)! I didn't think I'd like it (sounds boring, but it's a cool experience! :)

I thought today was another long run. . . . . wrong! Speed work 8x400's :P ! I was so not excited when I found out about it but on the 2 mile warm up I got ready and excited :) !! My legs were a little fatigued today but I tried not to think to much about it. With 1 minute rest the first set (4x800) flew by so fast! It was when we had the first longish brake that my legs tightened up so bad (big mistake, I should of just kept going). When we went into the next set that was difficult. After I finished the last one it felt like my head was falling in <owch!>! Otherwise I felt sooo strong today! I tried to stick right on Ashley's tail and I did for the most part!! Also last time I only did 6 today I bumped it up 2!  1:30-1:35 for most I Only hit 1:40 once ish?! That's way better then last time!!!! :)  **like I can remember my times?!!

**Need to drink more water, that was a big oops in today's workout !!

Your day sounds like mine. I definitely did not drink enough water and we did a speed workout instead of the usual long run. It sucked! Oh well, tomorrow is easy :)

AT dog pound today!! :) Up the hill to hearts hurt like a mother! I didn't know how it would go, my head said I was going to go as fast as I could but I wasn't sure if my legs would follow. As I turned the corner to go down into Washington new found energy hit me. I was booking it today!! My legs felt weak and like jell-o but they were moving! I turned around at one point to push with my friends, they came along for bit. I really wanted somebody to push along with today :(  I started to die after the second hill but still pushed it into the school. :P !! I'm starting to feel way strong with yesterdays and todays workout. I thought I would feel weak and my body does but everything else in a weird way feels strong.**I want to work as hard as I can so I can get a good time at region!!!!!

Today has been one of those days. The only good part is that I'm back down in 6 on my mile time (6:58) with a bad wind. Ran .5 warm up then jogged .25 before we got on the line to "race". The Kern's meet got canceled so to substitute we had a "race" of our own. It was hard. I didn't feel in a racing mood. I didn't have the right shoes and I was in my normal sweats. You can say I guess I just wasn't feeling it. I tired to push hard anyway. Ended up with a time better then I expected. Me and Lacy then took it nice and slow to AC! That was fun, we talked nearly the whole time. I'm really upset Kern's has been canceled. I could of been at a dog show up in Salt Lake! :( instead. . .now there is no race and is no show. And everything else right now is pretty darn dug in the ground!!!!!

I made plans with Lacey to run with lace at 6:00 am and we would meet at the dog pound. The only problem is we never really clarified it <oops!>!! We weren't sure if our parents would be okay with and we didn't know about the time. We met up at the high school. I ran with her back to her house in Washington and then turned around and ran home! :) It was so much fun! Next time we'll work on the times and what not <hahahaha>

Speed workout! 4x400's YES! Started out with a 2 mile DI warm up then headed onto the track for the 400's! I was excited there were only a whole four of them, funny thing is it felt like 10! My first one I ran way fast WAHOO 1:20! Then text two I don't remember I just pushed as hard as I could. The last was 1:30. The two girls that are usually ahead of me were done so it was really hard to pace and push myself :(  Good day and getting so excited for region!

TOMORROW IS REGION!!!!!! :) I'm so excited I want to do so good!!! There is a conflict though! I have my choir concert at 6:00 Thursday evening and the 3200 is towards the end too! I talked to my teacher and she said she would drop me two whole grades if I wasn't at the concert!! Well. . . I've been working my butt of all season and I love the 3200 so I'm NOT going to miss it and my choir teacher will have to live with it, as for the grade???. . . .!


So today me, Lacey and Kenz ran AC because Lacey loves that run! It was way fun running with them! Coach said we had to run 4 and AC is only 3 so we ran a 800 loop twice after. Good day, getting really excited, totally ready to kick butt!

REGION!! Got to watch everybody race and they're doing so awesome! It got me all nervous and excited. Felt weird not racing today! I can't wait to race tomorrow though!! :)

REGION!! My first race was the 1600! I love this race! I felt like I did good on it : ) !

My next race was the 3200. I love this race. . . But it’s the end of the season and it’s driving me nuts! I hate running in a circle 8x. . . It’s like a dog chasing its tail. I get so frustrated with it to grrr I try so hard every time and . . . . Ugg! Monica and Kenz came up to me before the race with this brilliant plan that we would stick together and push each other! It made it sound so much more fun! We didn’t start out fast at all but I’m pretty sure we kept a steady pace. It was actually better then I thought it would be. I stuck right behind Kenz. My legs felt good and everything but my lungs. . . . Grrr I had to cough so bad and when I held it back I thought I was going to gag. Everything else was great!!! Monica fell behind a bit so me and Kenz sprinted it in with a heal click at the end : ) Way to end the season.

Our team didn’t take region : ( !! I’m sad about it but I don’t really feel too bad. I didn’t see one girl that didn’t step it up or didn’t want it. I watched everybody run today and yesterday and everybody did amazing! So. . .We’re not region champs but we still did incredible!!! NEXT YEAR!!!!! : )

I really feel good about this season. Me and Lace got talking and we’re glad we stuck all the way through it.  We attended every work and had no excuses, when the hard parts hit we toughed um out.  I’m also excited because I’ve not even been running a full year yet. I can’t wait to see what I can do when I’m a junior/senior or even next year!!! I felt great with how I raced today and how the season played out!  : )

Coach said no track practice today but. . . .Me, Lacey and Austin did anyway!! No time to loose the Wasatch Back is coming up and so is xc! We went and lifted weights . . . MAN AM I WEAK!!! I think I'll start lifting over the summer so I can kick the snot out of xc! :) Austin showed us somethings to do! We ran a cool down and my legs felt like jelly! Tomorrow will be interesting!

I'm really buggered out today. Really sad about a whole bunch of things. I forgot to eat all day so it made for an interesting workout. We walked/ran to the mall. We were B-day shopping for Monica's mom. Me and Lacy left earlier and ran back. Went pretty fast felt good. Got back and did some ab clap things with Austin. Took my mind of a-lot of things felt good for awhile :).

Running felt so good today. It was weird because for the first time in a long time I was running alone. I could of run with somebody but I wanted to run alone. I wanted to go fast and push hard. I tried to work on pushing off the ground harder (I guess it lengthens your stride). After that me and Austin went and did Ab clap things and then lifted weights for a few minutes. I'm still weak (WAY WEAK) but I'm excited because as I stick with it I'll get faster and stronger!!! I was thinking on Monday instead of not running that I would just take this week easy. Today I decided against it and to go hard. :) - -Didn't eat again today. . . I really need to start taking care of myself. I got a little sick on my run and my stomach was growling.

**Yesterday Benn pointed out that I've met a short term goal of running at least 100 miles a month!! I went back and looked and I've hit quite a bit over 100 since January except for one month I hit 99.07 :( EXCITING!!!!!

Ran with Lacey today! It was great until I ate the dust! hahaha. . . it was actually really funny!! I've never fallen before or tripped and actually made it to the ground. I have a huge bruise and cut on my hip and  just a bruise on my knee, my ribs are all in tact but they look purpley/green. Had quite the eventful day with that and everything else!! I don't think I'll be running the rest of the week. I'm going to Salt Lake with Pace to hang with family and watch state! :) There's a dog show too but none of that this time.

We went up to Salt Lake today, it was lots of fun. Got to the La Quinta and all that jazz. I was going to go run when I got a phone call. My grandpa had just had a heart attack and was on his way to the American Fork Hospital. I could barely contain myself. I was so scared and frightened and I had no idea what to do. I booked it there! They ended up transfering him to the Utah Vally Hospital in Provo. So, with a long drive and the longest scaryest night of my life I did not get a run in.

Wow! Didn't get alot of sleep but I didn't let that effect me getting up to go to State. I WAS SO EXCITED! Everything was right next to each other; hotel, hospital and state track meet even the Dixie/PV tents. So I could bumm around and what not. The events were so much fun to watach! Everybody did so good! It makes me so excited and makes me want to work 10x harder! I had so much fun!!

I'M NEVER MAKING THIS MISTAKE AGAIN!!!!! Austin caught me befor I started running today and said it was hot and to ease into it. He sugested 2 miles because he didn't want to find my dead body. I thought I was tougher then that and went for 4! I just about died!!! In the heat of the afternoon do not run EVER!!! On top of that mistake I didn't drink or eat anything all day! So that run was pointless and not fun at all!

Went to this new thing out in Washington with my sister and some buddies. It was loads of fun. We ran around on the indoor track, lifted weights and alot of other things. It was a good workout and we had loads of fun! I don't know how far we actually ran but it was a least 1 mile. :)

If I may, I am going to analyze your form in that picture you've got going on...

Your legs are in a great position, but your top is holding back. Let the shoulders relax and bring your hips/pelvis up and forward to have a line that looks like this / through your body instead of a . You'll get it, and when you do, your running will just continue to improve big time.

Today was sort of a bummer of a day! My best friend through track and xc is moving to Las Vegas tomorrow morning. It was one more jab to millions that a-lot of my friends have either graduated, going to the new school or have moved. I'm really sad to see a-lot of them go especially my really close friends! xc and track will be really different next year. . . and I'm sad about that. My mom said that not everybody is leaving and try and be optimistic about what the next years will bring. This last year with xc and track has been so much fun I didn't want anything to change. But I guess change is  good (I'm not going to admit that right now) but I'll try and make the best of it! . . . . . So. . . . no running today, just hanging out one last time before everybody leaves! :(

( 6.2 ) I was a little nervous going to practice tonight. I think it was more of an excited nervous :)!! I started out running with Chandace but she was changing the pace quite a bit and I really didn't like it. So I sped up and caught Ethan and ran the rest of the way with him. It was great, I think we went pretty fast and that felt good!! My legs weren't sore either! :)

Its amazing how when you speed up your legs stop aching huh? I ran 14 miles on saturday with a group at the capitol and my knee ached the whole morning and another runner (craig) had some issues also so i told him to try and do some tempo running the last 2 miles and we both felt immediately better and ran without pain. I think you force your body to more acceptable position and while you jog your head is more vertical with your body.

I didn't go running till "dark" today so my mom made me run around the block (buggers!) I ran around that thing too many times! It was way boring but it felt good so I guess it was ok. Today I ran a 8:43 and 8:24 with the rest just right there!! :)  I guess new shoes do make you go faster (haha)!

Bad weather! Very,very bad weather!!!!! Not a good day at all today! Woke up at the crack of dawn (no joke) to go fishing in the freaking cold! We got out and then got blown off the lake. Got drenched in freezing cold watter trying to get back in! I decided if I couldn't go fishin I was gona go runnin. Bad idea when it's way too windy. I went out 1.5 with the wind at my back whoot whoot! Then I had to turn around and come back (not a very good day). It was way pretty out. . . not my very time of the year up here but still a really beautiful run!

Everybody headed out this morning for trolling except for me and few other sane people. I thought they were all crazy daring the white caps. I didn't want a scary boat ride or to get drenched again in freezing water. So I went running! :) I ran a mile out to Johnson's and then ran back and hoped on the Lake shore trail! It's cold and really windy but it's so beautiful! It's really green and there are lots of fresh water springs everywhere. It didn't seem like four miles when I was done I guess I just got caught up in it all.

I'm really not liking this bad weather bad fishing deal up here. I'm trying to make the best of it but. . .grrr! The camp sight next to us had to collapse there tent tailors and go rent motels in Richfield because it was that windy. I ran out a half mile and back and called it. It was sooo miserable to try and run in! My family was going to Geo cache so I went off with them instead. Hiked up the  Pelican trail. It was a great hike! The view on top was cool! Found a couple caches and then had to head back because it was sooooo COLD!!!

Packed up today! The plan was we were staying but I wasn't to opposed to going. My sister needs to take the ACT and it's just not the season yet. Today was a perfect day so we spent it out on the lake and packed and left when we were done. No time for run :( ! It was a great trip and it was lots of fun running up there!! :)

Wahoo!! I'm home and running and breathing (not in thin air! haha! The run felt good, a little to warm out side, good all the same! 

Later this evening me and my sister went skootering/biking! :) It was fun . . . but I wont count it as miles . . . good workout on the legs with that skooter!

(I think today was 6? correct me if I'm wrong) WBP this morning. They probably all think I'm a ditcher!! I've not gone to the practice in forever because I've been out of town. O-well. . . .I ran a weird 6 today. My first mile was with Bro. Heinrich. It was too fast, I didn't realize (7:46. I was just talking to him about my legs in the race. Then I let him go and tried to slow down. Next mile was still a little too fast 8:17. Then  next was too slow 9:22. I just kept bouncing around! grrr!! My  goal was to stay right on the 9 minute mile pace. And I just couldn't! What is this?! Next time I'll just have to let it flow?!

You are stronger than a 9 min ave. You need to trust yourself and push yourself to go faster - I know you can do it! Do you?

I thought this was a 4.5 mile loop? Maybe I skipped something to make it shorter because it ended up at 3.4. Yesterday coach commented that I'm faster then a 9 minute avg. It really got me thinking. I think I sit back a little too much on my runs and need to be pushing harder! So today I sort of went out of my comfort zone (of laziness) and got an 8:55 avg. pace. I can push more than that and I'll need to work on it. My legs were a little sore today but not too bad!

I'll need to run more to get more miles in . . . .later tonight?

You did good today - most everybody didn't hit the top section of the run to add the mileage, but that is okay with the run coming up.

Out to AC and back! My sister road next to me on the bike, it was great! She's like my bestest buddy ever so times seems to fly when we can talk! :)  Avg. Pace 8:47!! :)

Tomorrow I'm leaving for the Wasatch Back!! :) I'm running leg 2 (2, 14, 26)!! I'm nervous but I'm soooo excited!!! The only thing I'm nervous about is I've never raced a long race/distance! I don't know how to race it  . . . pretty silly, I guess!

WASATCH BACK RELAY!!! :) This race was hard but sooo much fun! My first leg was my hardest leg (2)! It was too hot for me (middle of the afternoon) and long. The coaches said just jog it, don't push anything and have fun. That weirded me out just a little . . . I thought it was race?! But I really didn't know what I was doing and they did so I did as they said. When I got the wrist slap thing I set a nice pace for myself and held it. There was one big hill but the coaches trained us on harder ones so it wasn't too bad. . . but still hurt. At one point I got way too hot and started feeling sick to my stomach. But before I could die I made it to the exchange. Over all this leg wasn't too hard, I just really didn't like running in the heat.

(14) Middle of the night run. . .LOVE IT!! This was my easiest of all my legs, it was only 3 miles! I love running in the dark and when it is freezing cold too! I did this one fast and it felt good! My legs didn't hurt or anything! I had Coach Heinrich biking next to me and that was way nice! It had a few rolling his but overall nothing too bad!

I heard the last leg always stinks and it does! My goal was not to walk and not to go too slow. By this time I also hadn't eaten anything since lunch the following day (which was before we even started the race). So with nothing in me it stunk! I was sooo hungry I thought I was going to die on this run. My legs and I were worn out! I made it through and was glad to be done! After everyone in our van was done we finally went and ate!! YUM!

Overall this was an o.k race! I had lots of fun I just wished I had felt it more of a race then fun, or just pushed harder on my legs. Next year if I get to run it again I will!! I had lots of fun!! And next year I know I'll need to do some things different. . . maybe like eat, train harder and run harder on the actual race!! This race also got me all excited about the upcoming xc season. I'm going to start training way harder. I've not really trained hard this summer but I'm going to start now!

Ran 3 with my sister on the bike next to me tonight.

8:50 - - found out my time and was extremely angry

8:10 - - not bad but just thinking and getting really mad

6:15 - - holy cow. . . I can't even run that in 1600 in track! I was blowing all my anger at this mile!

I guess I'm angry because I know I've not put in the miles I've needed to put in this summer to have a great x-country season. I guess I'm also mad that I've not been pushing myself harder. I want to do great but I'm not when I'm running like this.

Plan B- - mornings 5 . . . evenings 3. . . .push self a little harder on all my runs! . . . add some push ups/ sit ups/ weight lifting! From here I will improve. . I hope!! With morning runs I'll build up those miles hopefully soon!

a.m - - o-man this getting up at the crack of dawn is killing me. I made it to xc practice though so thats a good thing. I ran 2 out to the desert and 2 back. I didn't push the pace at all today, just nice and easy and it felt good. I got lost a few times though :( I guess I wasn't awake enough to remember where I was at! Austin caught me on the way back and helped me push myself *thanks*!

p.m - - My sister is on a date so I was on my own. It was a good run but I was trying to figure something out. I'm going to bump it down to 7 miles a day because I'm just not ready for 8 yet. I'll be able to bump it up soon but I can't go from zip to something amazing. So would I run 5 in the morning and 2 in the evening or 4 in the morning and 3 in the evening? Anybody know? I really don't know what I'm doing, just trying to get better. So if ya have an ideas please share.

Had a-lot after me today so I didn't get a run in. Mainly because I thought I could run tonight but I forgot I was going out to see the Sound of  Music at Tuachan! Things just didn't work!

I've been really busy all day and am going to a dance tonight so running was nearly impossible! I decided I could do it and that little miles would be better then nothing. It was about 4:45 when I left, I think?!( it's summer I don't keep track of time!)! I drenched myself in water got a water bottle and off I went. The heat wasn't bad at all, it actually felt really good. :)

a.m - - I decided to get up a little earlier and run 3 to practice. About a mile and a half into it I saw Amanda and she turned around and ran with me the rest of the way to the school. It was a good run. Got to the school with a few minutes to spare before warm ups. After warm ups I decided I wanted to stick with a group during this run, lots of girls were just running three so I decided to tag along.We really didn't really stick together though. I turned around at 1.5 and got a little down the hill and my legs started stinging. Usually they just burn because they're tired or hurt but they were stinging. I went a little bit farther thinking it would run its self off but it didn't. I stopped and stretched for a second but that didn't help, even stopping didn't help. I just lived with it and got back to the school. It took 5 minutes after I got back for it to stop. o-well! Overall it was a really good run. I don't know if I'll keep running to practices or not? It was nice because it's cooler out at 6:35 then at 7:00! And if I don't run there are some friends that are biking?! Maybe I'll try that next?!

I got up at 5:00 a.m to go running because it was sooo nice outside. . . but my mom! She said I would surely die if I went out alone running at 5:00 a.m in the dark :( ! So I sat around and waited for 7:00 to hit so I could go run with the team but I was really running alone. Went the same way the team went and then instead of turning around I went up into Green Springs. I've not been running up there in a long time and I enjoyed it. Went a little more then a mile in then came back out and did the D.I loop home. I felt like an elephant today tromping along which stunk but as I get more consistent hopefully I'll get better.

a.m- - 5- -  I started out right behind the main group today. I kept falling more behind though because they were going a bit faster and they seemed to have the luck of the cars. Because by the time I got to the street I had to wait for all these cars to go. I just pushed it hard. A little bit before Wal-mart on the hill I caught up to Micci Hafen and ran with her the rest of the way. It's been awhile since I've ran with somebody, it was really nice to have somebody to push with. We really kept each other going and it was great. I didn't feel like elephant today either it was lots smoother then yesterdays run! :)

p.m wahoo!! I get to run with my dad tonight!!! :)

Didn't get to run with my dad tonight :( So I went angry/sad running. It was pretty intense. I feel much better now. I got to think alot and it helped clear my head.

wahooo I stuck right behind the main group today for a mile. It was a nice run! I was hoping that girl would be at practice today so I could run with somebody again but she wasn't :( ! So I tried to push myself and not slow down. Didn't wear my watch, didn't know the route so I'm sort of guessing on the distance. Started out with the team today, hung around for a little while and then slowly dropped back as we entered the desert. My legs were really hurting today, that first mile was stupid. I ran with Kassidy and Rachel for awhile. They turned around and Micci was behind me so I ran with her. We picked up the pace as we got out of the desert area thing. We ran from the desert down to the round about then we didn't really know where to go. So we just sort of invented a new route from there. It was a lot of fun.

I drove out to practice today. I thought I knew where I was going but I guess not. So missed that :( really wanted to run somewhere else for a change of things. :( . . . . never again!

Went to the new Washington rec center and got a month pass for the rest of the summer :) SWEET! So me and my sister went and ran on the treadmills. I thought it would be bad because I've been so tired today and my whole body just seems to have shut down. But it was actually a really good run! I'm so excited about this run! Wahoo! Me and my sister went to the rec center to run tonight. I sped up the treadmill to a good pace and then just went with it. When I looked down towards the end I noticed that all my miles were under a 9:00 minute pace!!! I was so excited! I was running an 8:45 pace! Thats really good for me. :) My knees started hurting in the middle of 6. I planned on going 8 but I've not done a long run in a long time. Running doesn't come easy to me. I really have slowly build up to it. So I just finished up that mile and was done, I don't need an injuries. Hopefully next week I'll be strong enough to run 8 but for now that was a really good run.

Wahoo!! I met my goal this week of 30 miles, + I got one extra! I'm really excited about this week and I'm starting to feel a lot stronger!

5.7- - - XC practice! Wahoo! Shayna finally came :) we ran together for the first 1.5 before she turned around. I ended up on my own after that. It was really nice outside and the desert was really pretty. I liked the run a lot and it went really smooth!

Me and my sister went to workout at the gym later tonight. I ran 4 on the elliptical and did a mile on the bike. I tried running but all day today my knee has been bugging me. It really hurts in just one place. So I decided to hold off on the running till tomorrow morning.We went and lifted weights after. I'm weak!

xc practice- - I started of great with my first mile at 7:38. I was just cruising and it felt really good. But after that first mile it all started going down hill. By the time I hit the bank 1.5 I was sick to my stomach. I decided instead of getting stuck in the middle of the run I ran back. I felt so horrible. My stomach started to relax when I was about to the school. I decided I would just stay close in case I really needed to stop. So I ran around this block till I hit 4 and then headed up this hill to the school. Overall my legs were great and just ready to go but my stomach hurt so bad. I almost thought I was getting the flu but I'm feeling better now.

Went to the Chelsi Peterson race tonight. I didn't know about it till practice this morning so it was a last minute thing. But I'm glad I went! Went with Austin and ended up finding lots of friends there (Kareena, Chandace, Cowboy, Kimzy), It was so much fun! Once the race started me and Chandace stuck together and just jogged it. It felt good.

I missed practice this morning because I was to lazy/tiered to get out of bed :( my bad! So I went later tonight with my sister to the rec center. I ran the first 3 in 25 minutes (8:33 pace) then slowed it up for a .25 mile and then the rest spead it back up to that 8:33 pace. It was a good run, no complaints after a long day. Adrenaline has been pulsing through my body all day. First my brother cut his finger off with a pocket knife (that scared me)! Then freaky rafiki and big balu chased me and my sister (that should of been counted as miles)! What a day!! Well that was a little t.m.i for the blog but o-well! Adios Amegoeses!

owwww. . .I'm dead!! We only went 3 today and then played some ultimate frisbee. It was a lot of fun but my legs are feeling dead, I was happy for the relaxing brake. After we were done we had to run back. Madison just started running this summer so I found her on the way back and helped her make it all the way back without stopping! She did so good!! It helped me take my mind off my own legs :) Awesome day, good run!!

Went to the rec center with my family tonight. Ran a couple of miles in 16:29 (8:14 pace). It was a good run. I thought I would die but my legs felt just fine. I wonder why I can run faster on a treadmill then on the road. . . Is running on the treadmill the same or almost the same as running on the road?! Does anybody know?

If you set the incline to 1 or 2% then running on the treadmill uses the same effort as running on a flat road at that pace. But then again when you run on the roads you vary your pace. On a treadmill it forces you to run at a consistent pace (mainly so you dont fly off the back!) I use treadmills to help my body zone in on a specific race pace so that come race day my body just switches into that speed and I'm good to go. Keep up the great summer runs!

xc practice was over in the Green Springs Park today. I like changing up the location, its nice to run somewhere different. My legs are still a little sluggish but not too bad. I ended up hanging back a little today and ran with Chandis and Kassidy. We had lots of fun! We talked about the upcoming season and we're all way excited! We talked about our goals and all that good stuff. Man, I'm getting so excited!

Ran in the most beautiful place today! It was so pretty outside and it was nice out too!  There were so many BIG beautiful homes but once you got past the homes the mountains were incrediable! Really fun run……A little bit stiff when I started but once I was off It was great and the time seemed to fly!

Went walking with my cousin Austin tonight. . . . In Eagle Mountain! I was so excited to go walking with him! He is like my hero! He’s lost 40 pounds just from walking a couple miles every night!...  We started off just around sunset. The mountains were really pretty when the sun went behind them. And as it got darker, there aren’t any street lamps here, so the stars were soooo bright!

Ran the eagle mountain loop this morning. It was sooo hard to get up! But I did and I’m glad I did. I ran to the entrance of North Ranch  (1 mile) then went out onto the main road and went up about a (1) and then headed back and just looped through neighborhoods to run a little longer. I was really stiff this morning. And out here in North Ranch there are some good rolling hills going on too. It was great!

I wasn't going to run with the team today because we are going camping. So I woke up early and did a 2 mile warm up from my house, around D.I and to the school. I got there and the football guys were on the field. I didn't want to run around them and put on a freaking show! So I went and ran a couple 800's (1- 3:26  2- 3:40) not all that great but I tried. Decided after that to wait for the team because we were originally doing 200's (don't really know what I was suppose to do). Didn't really want to waste a workout.

Every buddy showed up and we ran to Hearts and back to warm up. I started way after the team though. Got back and got started. Ran 200 and then jogged 200, 5 times. I'm really not fast! My legs felt like weights. It was sort of a crappy workout for me but I did it, its done and I gave it all I had. Finished off with 2 big laps around the school.

 

p.m I'll run up where we are camping today :) that will be 10.25 miles for the day! :]

6.6 - - I don't even know how to put how I feel about todays workout. I'm so angry at myself right now. I just couldn't get my legs moving at all and it was irritating. I've never really been tore down mentally but today. . . . was the worst run of my life so far.

Warm up to Hearts then speed work 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 400, 300, 200, 100 with equal jog recovery. Then 1.25 cool down.

I really wanted to do good but I wasn't and it felt like I couldn't and it just made me angry. Almost quit but finished up and I'm glad I'm finished . . . but thats about the only thing I'm happy about.

3.5- - After this afternoons run and a lot of talking to myself I feel much better. I took it easy and just talked and ran with Chandace.It was really nice and relaxed. She's a great girl and is tons of fun to run with!...... Ran up into Green Springs and back. Stayed at the top for quite awhile ;). On our way back we stopped again at my grandparents pond and splashed ourselves. :)

Hummmm . . . some days are good, some days are not, some days your legs are strong, sometimes they are tight and sore. If there is something you need to do or haven't done in your training make a commitment to do better. The way you talk to yourself, however, is an important part of the sport. Getting down on yourself because your body couldn't perform is a little like being mad at yourself because you don't have wings . . . kind of silly. There is a difference between doing your very best and your body not being able to perform in exactly the way you would like. Keep up your training; push yourself to do your very best each workout; and like last year you will enjoy the results. Ups and downs are a part of every sport.

I feel sad reading about you getting down on yourself.

Afternoon practices are so hot! I decided to go 5 because of the heat. I got about 2 miles in before I thought I was going to die. My legs were pulling in every direction. They were so sore! And my head from the warm up was till hurting. Kendall caught me a little into my 3rd mile. At that point I didn't feel good and I think he could see it because he stayed with me for the rest of the run. He really helped me push myself and was so encouraging. It helped so much, what an awesome guy! Towards the end of the run I started to feel much better. Man I feel good now that I finished and just kept going! :)

I was so LATE to practice today :( ! My sister had everything I needed and was nowhere to be found! arg! I finally made it but way late. I couldn't find any girls so I followed the guys and they went to AC. Cut it there because I needed to go get my uniform. Ran a little bit with Ethan on the way back. After I got my uniform I went down onto the turf to do grass striders with out my shoes on. I burned my feet off! They hurt now so bad to even walk on! Owch! Not cool! I only did 4 and I got a blister and my feet are red! I'm never going on the turf when its that hot again! :( . . . other then that running went great, legs still sore but good

Tomorrow we have our first race! I'm so scared! I want to do good but I don't know what to expect from myself.

So goals

-Give everything I've got and leave nothing out

-Have a positive attitude about the race and keep a positive attitude as I race. Don't get down mentally and just give up

-Have fun! :] and get the best time I can and improve from there!!!!

RACE!! Yikes (in a good way!)! :) I've been stressing about this race for awhile and I'm glad to have it finally be over! . . . Anyway. . . Stretched warmed up got  ready and all that good stuff and tried to stay mentally strong. Got on the line, I thought I had a good starting place but I didn't. I wasted a lot of time trying to get past everybody. Once I got going I was good. I felt like I pushed it hard but probably should of been pushing harder. It was just weird. Last time I ran a 5k was a region last year. It was an okay race, I felt like I got a lot out of it to take to the next race with me but when I found out my time. . . .!!!It took awhile to just breathe through that. I wasn't happy but I made a goal to be happy about it. I don't know. I guess it was okay but I know I have it somewhere inside me to do better then that. 

*I think thats my time?. . . Why can't I ever remember 4 digits?!!. . . I'll find it out and post it when I find it :)

I finally made it to practice early!!! I'm so excited!! Ran a warm up, stretched, did drills and then took off on our run. We only ran 3.5 today, which was really nice. My legs were a little bit fatigued from the race the day before. It was fun too I got to run with Shayna too. . .man its been a long time! It was so nice to talk to her. The run just seemed to fly by! :)

I started this race scared to death because of the word "Varsity". All those girls are so good and it scared me so bad. I felt like I didn't belong on that line it was so uncomfortable. I had to keep telling myself that I was racing me and my time and just try to help the team with the best I've got. As soon as the gun went off, o man they start out so fast. I took off after them :) I felt good, felt like I was pushing hard, really tried to lean forward. I love this course! There is a nice down hill and the uphills aren't that bad. My legs weren't moving though. They just really didn't want to move. My heart and mind were a million mile ahead of my legs. I tried lengthening my stride but it didn't really work so I tried to just keep my arms moving hoping my feet might follow. My time ended up at a 24:30 which is a PR for me :)! I'm happy about it but I know I can do better then that. I know I can push myself harder then that. :(


Not a bad day, not a bad race! I'll just take everything I learned this race into the next and into my workouts. :)

Really nice run today. Started out sort of sore but loosened up as I got going. Just relaxed and had fun, the heat today wasn't that bad either! :)

5 miles- - - 6 hills this morning with my dad because I have to go see the doctors :( ! It was a good run, I was glad to have my dad there pushing me :) After he wanted to speed on the way back; couple minutes slow, couple moderate, couple fast, couple race pace. Then we were done!

3 miles- - - Ran 2  with Shayna today after school. It was a nice easy pace. My arms hurt so bad though. The stupid doctors tossed my shot record and well I had to get them all again :( !  I feel bad for Shayna though. She's become so angry and frustrated with running. I don't know why though. I wish I could help! :(

Nice, easy, relaxed run today with Shayna :) ! It felt good! Ran twards the Washington Elementary and back. We stopped a couple times to cool off. Once at the stream in the park and the other time at the gas station. It was good though. After we did 8 grass striders :)  (need to start doing more of those)

Wahoo! Tomorrow is 400's I'm ready!!!! :) :) :) I love this workout! :) . . .I don't know how I'll do now compared to how I did at track but I'll give it my all!

Speed work!~ 200, 300, 400 3x with equal jog recovery. It wasn't bad. I tried to control my speed so I wouldn't die and I didn't . . .so thats good! Took a little brake after my second one because I had to go to the bathroom really bad. Used that chance to get mentally ready to make the last one really good. I really pushed hard on all of them because I want to be a better runner. Finished with the 2 big loops around the school. :)

Race today! I wasn't even that nervous. I couldn't get nervous. . . I totally wasn't feeling it at all today. :( I need to realize its a freaking race but I just never do! What the Fenji!! Makes me so mad! But I pushed it really hard at the first. Somebody said if you go out hard and keep going hard for as long as you can, then just keep building off it that soon you'll be able to maintain that pace?! I don't know, I really need to work on some serious racing skills!

After the race I attempted to run a cool down with Lacey and Shayna but my stomach felt like it was going to explode. So I ran around a little but not much because it was making me sick.

Warmed up and headed off for a moderate 5! It was good besides the fact that I was up till 1:00 a.m doing homework and I forgot my water bottle for the day :( . . it was good! I knew I was worn so I tried to stay with a big group. I stayed with Chandace and Rachel for the first part because we started a little later then the team. We ended up catching Kareena but she didn't come with us so then we caught Miki and she came with us. Once we got to the park all of us were together (Chandace, Rachel, Shayna, Miki, a guy and me) so we did Indian runs all the way back to the school. It was nice because we were all pushing each other. :) Felt like a solid run and effort!

a.m - 3 - I got out of bed! :) Nice run to ac and back with Chandace. We weren't going way fast but we had a really solid moderately fast pace. 

p.m - 5.7 - Man my legs were just a little stiff after this mornings run. It made for an interesting hill workout. I did all 8 hills though. Pushed  really hard each time. My legs at the top kept locking up, it killed. It feels good to be done though, knowing I did everything I needed to do :)

Long Run (8) - Funnest long run ever! Some of the girls on the team decided to meet out at Coral Canyon Elementary to run together. It ended up being Chandace, Kareena, me and then we adopted Kenz and Monica from Desert Hills. It was really fun to be able to talk to everybody, it made the time fly. Easies long run of my life. :) Everything went really good, I thought my legs would be sore from yesterday but running long and slow felt amazing. The only thing that did go wrong is my stomach! It didn't hurt it was just like growling so everybody could hear! Talk about weirdness! Next time I'm getting up earlier to eat! Because I was sooo hungry!

Another amazing run today! I ran with Chandis, Cassidy, Kenz and Monica. We were all pretty sick of running in St. George so we drove out to the Tuachan Theater to invent a new run. We ran from there to the main road and then found a trail and ran on that till we hit 7. It felt really easy and the miles seemed to fly by. It was way fun to run with everybody too! :)

a.m - Confusing stuff this morning. But I got all 3 in. It was a good run but really slow.

p.m - 5 hills! Good workout for me today. I feel like I really pushed the hills hard. I even stayed right behind Ashley for one, till the end she pulled away. The only thing that stunk was it felt like I couldn't breathe, sort of an irritating feeling!

p.m - AT dog pound - Good workout today! I felt like I was running where I was suppose to be. It wasn't suppose to be full out today so we just went fast enough to get us breathing hard.All these harder workouts (bigger hills, AT, 800 repeats tomorrow) in a row are making me feel a lot stronger. a.m - ac and home :)! < 3 miles >

p.m - 5 800 Repeats! Warmed it up to Hearts, split into groups and off we went! I was so excited with this workout because I kept them really close in time :)! 1:28, 1:30, 1:32, 1:30. . . The last one was freaking AMAZING! I shaved 10 seconds off (1:20)! Coach said something really cool too. . .something about how you've put so much effort in this far don't throw the workout away by relaxing on this next repeat?! I don't know it just really helped me. Sweet stuff today!


I feel really strong after this workout and I've never felt so ready for a race! :)

p.m - After a very long bus ride it felt so good to be outside and run. Me and my friends decided to stick with the trail. The trail ran right along side a river which was way pretty. I wanted to stop and sit by it but. . .haha. . that wouldn't fly over well! We also went across some bridges (good times, good times) and then under little tunnel things. It was really fun and relaxing just to be somewhere different!

BYU! I was so ready for the race after coach had come to talk to us. It was sweet! We talked about team goals, personal goals and over coming the walls that keep us from reaching those goals. We talked about how sometimes we forget that a race is a race and that we need to race it like a race! Thats always a hard one for me. I can never get in the right mind set and I relax if the pain gets to intense. So with all that said, I was completely ready for the race.

Woke up early so that I wouldn't feel rushed and feel like crap. Went over and ate a good breakfast. I wasn't hungry because I was filled with so many butterflies but I stuffed food down me because I knew I would get hungry. Then we left for the race :) Watched and cheered for all my friends why they raced. When they came back though they were getting minutes higher then what they usually get. That scared me really bad and sort of discouraged me. Finally it was my turn to race :)!

We stretched, warmed up, got mentally ready for a great race and got on the line. I was so nervous and scared. When the gun went off I took off. I could barely feel my feet :)! It was sweet! My first mile was 7:07! I was passing a lot of people and just trying to push myself. My next mile was 7:43. I slowed down too much here. I didn't even really notice. Just kept tugging along. Last mile was 7:55. Then the last little .46 was 3:39. It felt like I really pushed it hard the whole race, harder then I've pushed it all season.I was way pleased with this race. I still have a few things to work on like bring the last two miles down though. But it was a good race :)

If you raced this and were wondering if it was long, two gps watches from our team got 3.46, 3.47 miles.

a.m - Usually I take my running buddies for granted because they've been there every morning . . . but today I was by myself and it stunk! :(

p.m - 6 Sunrise Tire Hills. Warmed up and stretched with the team then jogged over with a group of girls and coach. Legs were really sore, I'm glad we had that 1.5 warm up to the hill to work everything out. Once we got there I ran the hills as best I could. I felt like I did okay on them but not the best I've done this season. I really had to work numbers 4 and 5 because those ones were just so hard! Legs were on the sore side and body was on the tired side today, which made it hard. But it was a good workout and I feel like I'm a little bit better because of it :)

p.m 4 AT Dog Pound! When I started the warm up today I was like 'crap I'm in trouble' because my legs were so sore! During stretches I stretched really good and just tried thinking positive thoughts. When we started off to Hearts I thought that everybody else has done the same workouts as me, they're all probably in just as much pain, so why should I relax? Finished jogging it up to Hearts and then took off with Chandis. We had a really hard pace too. It was nice pushing together because neither one of us really wanted slack off or drag the other down. It kinda felt like we were competeing but in a good way, a way that pushed us hard. My legs hurt really bad the whole time, I guess thats a good thing though.  We ended up staying a little behind Coach and Kassidy too! They didn't really get that much farther ahead during the run. We were kinda trying to catch them. But we fell behind when we finished the AT section. . . Chandis had to go to the bathroom so bad she could barely walk. So we ran into the Dog Pound. By that time we finished up Coach and Kassidy were long gone and Micci and Shayna had caught us. So we jogged it back to the school! Good run today and I'm glad me and Chandis could push it together like that!

p.m - I didn't really have time to pack clothes this morning. . .and things just weren't working out. . . . so I was so late for practice! Once I got my clothes I headed off for ac. Ran a little past there when I ran into Chandis. I really didn't want to run alone so I turned around with her and then just did a mile on the track when we got back. 

After I finished todays workout I was talking with some friends and they said I had blood all over my teeth! So I went to the bathroom and sore enough I had blood everywhere! It was way weird! Does anybody know why??? I didn't have any cuts in my mouth or on my lips or anything. . .

Las Vegas meets are. . . .really interesting?! When we got there 1. Coach Holt wasn't there 2. We had never been to that race before 3. We didn't know any of the other teams besides Hurricane. It was so . . .cool but way intimidating at the same time. Me and Lacey ran around when I got there and cheered for all our team mates. When It was my turn to race I was so scared. We got on the line 10 minutes early so they decided to announce the top schools there. That was way intimidating. I had never seen any of these schools before and I didn't know if they were like robots or something.

When the race started I had a way great start! I wasn't way up there, I was kind of in the middle. The only problem is we went the wrong direction. So in the process the girls ahead of me were turning around the girls behind me were still coming at me and it was a freaking moshpit. Everybody was so frantic because its a race and everybody wasn't thinking that clear. Girls were grabbing me and throwing me out of the way. Girls were cussing left and right. . . it was horrible! When I finally managed to get out of it there was still a traffic jam we were jogging forever. There was finally a brake up in things and I could see Shayna, Chandis, Kareena and Micci clear up there! Ahhh! How did I manage to get stuck clear in the back. . .I have no idea. It took me a while to catch them. The whole race I passed and passed and passed girls. It was way sweet! There was a lot of loose sand and that was tuff to run in, sometimes it felt like I was just treading it but I pushed it so hard. I felt like I pushed it to a new level this race. It was great!

Are girls team did way good this race. We're improving so much every race. Its been hard with one of are 7 runners being injured but we've trooped along. We all have the heart and want to be good runners and I have a lot of hope for region even though everybody is telling us we can't do it!

After the race I was a little disappointed with my time. But I got talking to all my friends and we decided to judge the race on this. . . If we didn't know our time, did it feel like it was a strong race? And it felt way good to me! I feel like I pushed it so hard! And I'm way happy with this race!

O-man! I was talking to all my friends and we've never, in our little life's of running, been this sore. And on top of being sore we had to keep our legs moving for 6 miles and bare foot striders. We didn't even know why our legs were this sore. We did the same things as usual do during a race and for some reason we are beyond soreness! It made for an interesting run. We were phychos, it was fun, but it hurt! Finished up with 8 barefoot grass striders :)!

Today after practice somebody told me how the girls team didn't have a chance of making it past region and going to state. It seems like I've heard a lot of people say that to others as well as me. After hearing this all season it's been building up to the point that I'm really upset and I think some of the other girls that heard it are too. It's really hard to go and put your body through these workouts and not feel believed in or cared about because people don't think we have a chance. The girls on our team, the ones I've talked to and the ones I run with, love this sport and know we can do it. We have the most heart for this sport and we want to do well. We've all put lots of time in, equally to everybody else. Our lives for the last little while have revolved around running. We wake up Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays to do morning runs and then we run everyday after school. Our weekends are taken up with races. I finally talked to my dad tonight about it. He told me that when he played football for Alta, they came in last in the region and were last going into state play offs. The coach had given up and and didn't believe they had a chance. Every young man on that team wanted it, all of them had the heart to win that game. They went in last to state play offs and came out the state champs. . . .now I don't know we'll be state champs, but I want people to believe in us.

wow sierra thanks for posting that, it's inspiring. I believe in you guys too. I know that you can make it to state. remember that one quote on the back of an xc t-shirt that says: I race to see who has the most guts not the most talent." (i'm not sure that's the exact quote) It's helped me a lot when I'm down. Thanks again for posting that.

All that matters is what you guys believe. Don't surround yourself by those that don't believe in you. I know that all the hard work you guys have put will pay off big time for you and the team. Yes there have been some bumps in the road, but the race you had Tues. at DHHS shows what is in store! Keep it up!

p.m - Good race today! We had a meet with just us (PineView) and Desert Hills. It was so weird only having two teams there but it was way fun at the same time. The course was fun, I kinda like it. I felt like I pushed myself  hard this race but I felt like I could of pushed it harder. At the end me and Kenz sprinted it in. Thats the strongest finish I've had this season. Kenz ended up beating me by like a half step, it was intese! Sweet race though and I got a new PR :)! 

Went to a stake swimming party after the race. We got there just a little early so we went and ran cool down. My legs are so sore!

p.m -  4 AT! Last night I decided that I need to start taking my practices to a new level. I need to find somebody in front of me that I can push myself to keep up with. Today I knew my legs were sore but that I needed to push it hard. We warmed up to Zions bank and then I just took off! I was getting closer to Cassidy when the light changed at Wal-Mart! I thought I was going to kill the light. It totally ruined my plan of trying to stay with her. The rest of the run I just worked on catching her. I'm way happy with this workout. This is how hard I need to be pushing.

a.m - ac and home. Still not feeling 100% better yet. Me and my mom think it was bad food. . .yuck! My body hurts (shoulders, legs, head, stomach) just feeling really sluggish.

p.m - (600,800,1000,1200)x2 with 2 minute break between each one and 4 minute break between the sets. First set at race pace, Second set faster then race pace.

This was definitely the hardest workout of the season and I wasn't even scared of it! I knew this workout was coming for 2 weeks and I've been mentally preparing and just thinking about what I wanted out of it. I wanted to finish it! That was what I was most afraid of, was just not being strong enough to finish it. By today though I knew I could finish and I knew I could do even more then just finish. Goal number 2 was to just push it hard and give it all I had. My last goal was to stick with Micci and Chandis and to push each other. We ended up sticking pretty close together. We each had are strong points and took turns pushing each other. I also wanted to pace myself so I wasn't dieing on the last one but that I didn't have anything left either. I feel like I did good! a.m - AT dog pound! My goal was to stick with Cassidy all the way down to where you turn onto that dog pound road. I DID IT TOO!!!! :) She was going so fast and she helped push me so much. When we hit the dog pound road I still went way fast and ran right behind her! Finished and jogged back with her for a bit and then she took off again at the entrance to the school. Best AT of my life! It was cool :) I got Athlete of the Week too! *Thanks Coach!!

I've been so nervous all day today! I've been worried about what the actual results would end up being for our girls team. I wanted to see myself and the team do really well. It was hard to prepare myself for this race because I was a freaking scatter brain all day. When we finally got to the race and it started my legs felt totally wasted. I knew I had to go after it though to see what I was up against and see how much harder I need to work. We all raced the race really hard and with the legs I had today I felt like I ran an awesome race. I feel like I could run it better at parts and maybe pick it up a little too, so I'll need to work on that and my finish! Other then that are girls team did AMAZING today! I couldn't stop grinning when I found out we got 2nd!!! I don't want to settle for 2nd though!!! :) *One of are V girls was not here today too so . . . .!!!! The boys team did amazing too!!

 

Homecoming Parade was sweet! The xc team was its own float! We ran together around all the other floats! It was so cool, tones of fun! :)

p.m - REPEATS!!! After last weeks repeats, these 6x800's were a piece of cake! It was kind of hard at the time because I was in a bad mood so it was hard to keep concentrated. I really had to work hard at that and just make the best of everything. The first was great! I got a 3:20! Then I cruised through the rest. I let the 2nd to last one slip, that made me super mad. I didn't know I let it slip that much. On the last one me and Chandis pushed it really hard together. My legs were hurting so bad but we kept pushing and pushing. It was way cool. Finished with a cool down to Hearts and back.

Lit the PV on fire tonight :)! It was cool but we also lit parts of the track on fire and RJ's shoe caught on fire too! It was funny. Good Homecoming game tonight too. Fun stuff!

Just went on my own today because everybody was gone with homecoming stuff. Just cruised through the run. Not too slow and not too fast. It was really nice! I hit a really hard wind at one point but other then that it was beautiful outside. I didn't think I would be able to do it all, because thats really far. But when I got going I felt like I could keep going and going. It was nice to be on my own and just enjoy.

Warmed up to Hearts and back with Micci and then started on the beastly workout. The first set was hard. I didn't know how fast to go and I felt like we were going faster then race pace. . .whine, whine, whine!!! I didn't want to slack off so I just held on to Micci and Chandis and we just really pushed each other. We had a 4 minute break between the sets. Got ready during that time and changed into my racing flats. On the next set I went all out! My body hurt so bad and every part of me was begging to stop but I kept going! I stayed right behind Cassidy. Before the last 1200 coach said I was getting tired and leaning back, I do that a lot, so I tried to really push my body forward. It was hard to keep my body like that for the last 1200 because it brings you right up on your toes. It ended up being a great last set!! Way pleased with the workout! It was difficult and hard but will be very rewarding. Finished with running a cool down to Hearts and back.

I don't know where to begin with todays race. I don't even know what happened. Sure I got a PR on the course by 1 minute and 21 seconds and got a PR by 6 seconds but I did horrible! It sounds like I did good but I could have done so much better! I don't know what happened . . . .I feel really bad I wanted to do really well because this is the last good course I like and things just didn't happen. Really, really frustrating! I guess I just have to learn and grow from this race.

Went and Volentered at the Marathon! I got soaked in my shorts jacket and shoes! It was so cold I was shaking so bad by the time we got in the car to leave. 

Everybody did really well! It was fun to watch Coach Holt run past! Man tuff condititons and everybody just stuck it right out!!!

a.m - 6x800 repeats! 1.5 mile warm up to hearts and then we started on the repeats. My time were really bouncy today. I didn't have anybody to group up with, it was irritating. My starts were somehow really bad and I have know idea why. I guess I just couldn't get my legs going?? I don't know! When we started I would be the last but before we even hit mid way I had passed most them and was the 3rd girl behind Cassidy. So I have know idea what went on today but I gave it my best. On the last 3, coach said to make them each 2 seconds faster then the  one before.  The second one slipped to a slower time that made me mad so last one ended up being 3:18! Good workout today!! It was different for some reason, it didn't feel nearly as hard as usual but I don't know, it just felt flat out weird.

a.m - Somebody said this was our last morning run! I hope they all weren't telling me fibs because that is the only reason I could get out of bed this morning. Morning practices have been a struggle! I'm not a morning person at all. But it has been the most rewarding thing ever and has given me that extra goodness that I need! Today a lot of  pre-race things went weirdly. First I didn't get my hair in a bun because it was stupid so I went with braids. Then I forgot my spandex. . . .but I got them!!! I woke up and I couldn't breathe this morning either. I had to endure the day because if I went home I wouldn't get to race. So my eyes watered and I was coughing and was headachy/ body achy through most the day.

By the time the race rolled around my body was dead tired! My legs were/are really sore too. We started off and I was going really good. Then my body and legs started to catch up with me. I don't know why but for some reason I'm still really sore. Everything ended up going down hill from there. Somehow I managed to get another PR though! I love how races that I feel like I did really well and pushed it really hard, my times are not so marvelous. On bad races were I feel horrible about how I ran and my legs are dead, I manage to get a PR. Its kind of messed up!!! But I'll take a PR! Now time to find some legs because mine are dead, and do great at region! Maybe I can both get a PR and feel like I ran amazing. . .that would be cool!

Hey don't get down! You had nearly 2 minute PR on the course, and you met your short term goal of breaking 23!! And you hit the nail on the head.. you are only a sophomore right? You have to remember that your times are going to continue to go down. You are already super fast, and you are only getting faster! Sometimes your legs will feel "trashed" but that's because you've been putting in the work all season. Have faith. It will get better. And by the end of the season your legs are going to feel as light as a feather and you are going to be putting the pedal to the metal! Great job, Sierra!

I was on my way back when the girls in back of me told me it was the II Silver Stone not  the just Silver Stone. So I turned back around with them to there and then turned around again. Good luck at region! I know you're going to do amazing! I heard a good quote today" "If you don't give 100% it's like giving away your goal." and the other one that I heard, is a story. Relate running to love, in kindergarten puppy love lasted about an hour and it hurt for about 10 minutes, and as your love for each other grows (during adult-hood), so does the potential hurt if you broke up. Running's like that because the more you love to run, or the more you love the team, or the more you love whatever your motivation is, the more pain you are willing to put yourself through to be faster. Running is a ton in the mind, telling yourself that YOU CAN DO IT! I know you will go your fastest, you can, because you love running enough. Thanks for motivating me throughout the season, I love you!!! Don't forget the pink sisterhood! :)I wish I could go cheer for you, know that I will be cheering in my heart.

The week of region. . .and man can I feel it! 

Warm up to Hearts - 3x 600 repeats (not intense) - cool down to Hearts

Coach Holt talked to us today and it totally freaked me out. Region is really here! I want our girls team to go to state. Our girls team has trained so hard and has overcome a lot. Not one of the girls on the team has ever slacked off. We've been out there every morning and every afternoon. We're not JUST out there but out there working so hard! I know we can do it but it wont be easy. I'm excited and nervous for everyone! So from today I'm going to visualize the race every moment I can, eat healthy (already do), and get some sleep! :) I KNOW WE CAN DO IT!

REGION -

I was SO nervous today I couldn't even think straight. We didn't do anything in any of my classes either, it was horrible. Never in my life have I been this freaked out or stressed. I just care a lot about what happens today!

I went out pretty fast and just worked on keeping my breathing going and just getting my mind on the right set. The whole time I was thinking about how bad our girls team wanted this and that we could do it. The second mile towards the bottom of the park me and Kareena kept bouncing around and moving up towards the snow canyon girl. I tried to keep with them but I lost them. :( I just tried to keep working on getting them. On the final loop which is a shoort lap they cut you off so you don't go down around the park. The pointed me in the right direction but a few steps later I totally forgot where I was at. My mind went completely blank. I thought I was cutting the course I didn't know where I was at or how long I had been doing what ever I was doing. So I stopped and turned around and started jogging backwards. The guy turned me around again and said follow the cones. I was so out of it so I started following the cones and everything started coming back. Luckily nobody was way close to me so nobody passed me in my stupid moment. From there I just pushed it as hard as I could.

After the race I just sat around with my friends and waited for the results. Everybody was so worried and I was ready to flip a lid. Kareena started saying we got 2nd and could go to state. But we didn't want to believe her so we went and found out! WE ARE GOING TO STATE!!!:) . . . It was so close. 2 points I think? But we're going and I couldn't be more relieved and excited! I could finally breathe. I knew we could do it and we did do it! Congratulations to everybody!!!! :)

I can't believe the season is over with the exception of state.I love cross country so much! I love working hard everyday and knowing I'm improving. I love the challenge of running really hard workouts. I love running with my friends and racing with them. I don't like when it all ends. I hope that everybody on the team stays close. Because this year I have made some of my best friends. And I just don't want it all to end. I have 2 more years I get to run cross country. These next years I want to push as hard as I can. I will run track to make me faster and between the two season I will continue running and get better and better.  I love running and want to be incredible by my senior year!!!

Pine View High schools annual run-a-thon! 8 p.m to 8 a.m

Sweetest night ever!! I ran a mile and froze my butt off . . .It was awesome! We played the best ultimate frizbee game ever. . . Tason is a freaking machine! Then we just did a lot of random things. I slept on the field and was so tired I didn't move till 6 a.m when somebody said breakfast was ready. After breakfast we finished off with the dash for cash. I ran one 400 and my legs were frozen till about half way into it, then  I realized how freaking sore they were!!!

I was going to run 3 miles today but I was going to take an hour nap but I slept from 9:00 a.m to 5:30 p.m!!! And my mom still had to get me up. I went back to bed at 9:00 p.m and had to get up at 7:30 to get ready for piano! I was so tired! My body is wasted!!! I shouldn't be this tired though.

For some reason my shoulders are so knotted I think it's starting to give me head aches. What ever it is it's been miserable. I tried to keep my arms and shoulders way relaxed on the run so they wouldn't get any worse. Anyway. . .ran around my block a couple times, over towards a.c but turned down to do the bank run, cut back up 2450 and up to my house. Ended up being longer then what I wanted. I wanted  to stop so bad when my watch hit 6 but I wasn't about ready to walk on my run so I finished it up home.

I just want to race it hard and have to regrets on this final race of the season. I'M 16 TODAY!!!

Traveled up to Salt Lake. When we got there we ran around the mall. It was just an easy 2. Felt good, but feeling really nervous for state. Everybody says the course is so hard YIKES!!!!

Coach talked to us tonight. . . . All year my goal has just been to make it to state! And we made it! I never thought about running hard at state. I would because its a race but its STATE! I think I got a little comfortable with just being satisfied with making it to state. Coach said thats how the boys were last year. And that we cant ever be just satisfied.

Got to the course around 11:30 and it was packed with people! I was so nervous and excited to race. We just hung around and tried to stay relaxed. Started warming up when the 3A boys started their race. We got a nice warm up in and stretched. It was a little cold outside but I'm not complaining because last year, it was horrible!!! We got on the line and handed some girls our clothes. We lined up. I wasn't on the line because a girl on my team beat me at region :( It was weird not being up there! We took off I had a great start but then the gun went off again and again and again and we were having a re-start. I hate those and hate them more at state! We took off again. I didn't have a great start! I got stuck in a big pack of slow moving hill climbers. I couldn't pass anybody and I was stuck. When we got to the top it started to spread out a little. I was able to start really going then. The rest of it I just pushed it hard. I feel a little discouraged that some of the girls on my team beat me that don't usually beat me. . .but I'm happy for them!!! They did so good. Why didn't I go with them?! Next year!!! I knew it would happen because they all told me they wanted to catch me and stay with me. . .and I was a target, a very slow moving target! I really enjoyed being able to run at state. I feel like I pushed myself hard. I know the course no for my junior and senior year where I WILL be kicking butt! I loved the course. . . it wasn't has hard as everybody made it out to be.

Between now and track and the next cross country season I'm going to train really hard and make sure I'm running everyday. I don't want to relax or slack off! I really want to be an amazing running and I will work for it!!!

Me and Chandis got together and went on an adventurous 8! We didn't really know where we were going so anywhere that looked fun, we went. We went down to Nisson Park because we've been running past a trail all year wondering what it was. It turned out to be nothing! So then we went down Dog Pound and into Washington. There was a little dirt trail that ran by the river and some way pretty trees so we cut off and ran on that. Got off that when it ended and into some neighborhoods. From there we got on the main road and I don't think Chandis was feeling good so we went and found a random house to use there restroom. Luckily the lady's house we stopped at was very nice. After that we just kept running till we hit 8. We ended at the top of the Springs. 

It was a good run. Legs felt good, no pains or anything. I actually felt like I could of kept going. With in the next few Saturdays I would like to get my long runs up to 9,10,11 miles . . . maybe higher as I get stronger this winter. I really don't know what I should be running for long runs this winter??

I think that all depends on your goals for the year :). If you want to run the longer track events then I would say long runs of 7 or 8 miles would be good. Nice thing is that any run over 3 miles is going to help keep your base mileage high. In the spring it will come down to fine tuning your speed work.

I know that something that helped me take 2 minutes off my 2 mile time was on a long run warming up with 2-3 miles, then goign into a 25 minute tempo run then finishing with 2-3 mile cool down.

You are logging nice miles! You are going to slice and dice for sure!

I got the chills and my body went all achy and I felt like I had to throw up but I couldn't. It was all I could do to keep up with Chandis and Micci. They were going really fast!!! Like it wasn't fast it was REALLY fast and I'm not just saying that because I wasn't feeling good and everything felt fast. I didn't want to go with them either because we have a huge workout tomorrow. But if I didn't I wouldn't be a better runner because of it. . . . ugg. . .lots of sleep tonight and healthy food and I'll be good for tomorrow.

*My body is starting to feel the little hours of sleep I'm getting up at 4:00 a.m and to bed around 10:00 at the latest. . . for the last two weeks. . one week to go!!! I hope I live!!!!

Two sets of 600, 800, 1000, 1200 :)!

Warmed up to Hearts and back then we started on the first set. I was worried I wouldn't be able to push myself as hard as I needed to go because it was just me and Chandis for the girl! It went really good though pushed it really hard. About half way through the first set after the 800 I realized I wasn't pushing it hard enough. So after that I just took off and started pushing it really hard. Then we took a 4 minute brake and started into the next set. Pushed it harder, a lot harder, then the set before. My legs hurt so bad. But I'm not complaining because I like to push myself hard, I love hard workouts!! After the workout we cooled down to Hearts and back! Good workout. Pushed myself hard. Can't wait till we do them again!

Changed things up today and went down to the trail! I had forgotten about this run and how much I love it! It was lots of fun! I felt like I could of just flown through it. 

My Shoes are toast!!!! I got them middle of the summer and my knees are telling me its time for new shoes. . .because they hurt so bad today!!!

I missed after school practice today because I had to get shots. . .my arm is dead! After that trip I went running. It was really good! My knees are the only things that kill, my shoes are so worn. I really, really need to get new ones. It was kind of fun though just to be out cruising around. I took my watch with me too, and its been awhile since I've done that. Avg Pace was 8:45!! That was a shocker!!

One heck of a really bad day!!!

Still having a really bad day! I decided to just go run it off!! Started off just angry and upset but soon I was just enjoying running. I was only going to go 4 but I didn't want to stop. It felt so good just to be away from everything for awhile and just to let my brain rest. Man I'm glad I can go to running to just relax!! Probably get in an 8 tomorrow. . .and count today as my long run?!

A WHOLE 14 MILES!!!!!!!! NO BREAKS!!!!!! AMAZING!!!!! Really only planned on going 8-10 but I felt good and was cruising along so I just kept going. Started getting hard at 12 and I just kept pushing. Knee started hurting so bad I could barely bend it after I finished mile 14 so I stopped. I've not trained in high enough miles and I need to start doing that. Over all really good run. The shoes DESTROYED my feet though. Talk about some serious blisters!! The insides of my foot hurts too. Legs felt great, probably because they've not been worked hard at all this week! I need to get my mind back in gear and not plan too much in a day that I don't have enough time to run! I'm excited I hit 14 miles, the highest I've ever ran so far. But I want higher and I know it doesn't come without a lot more practice and miles but. . . I'm setting a goal for myself: by January I want to run 17 miles!!

We went so fast at the start! It was so much fun!!! :) Turned down mall drive to do a 5. The long down hill almost killed me! It hurts so freaking bad. So I just got off that road fast and then ran back up to the school.

Didn't have a ton of time today but running helps my brain function so. . . I decided to do a quick 5!! Me and Chandis ran together for the first time in weeks. It was a great run, one of the best I've had in weeks!! I really haven't been feeling good lately though :(

A mad attempt to run! Still sick. It didn't go all the way away =( I don't feel 100% better but I feel a lot better then what I've felt the last few days. DARN!!! So I called Chandis to run and I got so sick. I thought I was going to loose everything on that run. My stomach was so upset. We ended up stopping at 4. Good thing we went out with no expectations and just to have fun ba ha ha ha! After we stopped running my stomach kind of settled down again. DARN! Monday. . .

1) 8:16 feeling great

2) 8:23 found a great pace right here

3) 8:30 stomach starting to hurt way bad

4) 8:49 murder me! Everything felt in pain and stomach was not happy!

Probably could of stuck right in with an 8:23-8:30 pace. So next week we'll try again!

So I guess I have forgotten to blog. . .oops!! I can't even remember what I have ran. . .BUT I HAVE =)! It's just I don't want to put in miles and over estimate so It's my mistake and I wont be putting anything in. But today I ran a 3. I took all last week off because we were out of town and it was a blizzard ever day. So I felt extremely out of shape today but it wont take long to be back. . and I'm not eating anymore crap!!!
