.5 mile warm up with team and core stuff 2 mile warm up/ 3x1000's / 2 mile cool down
Best speed workout I have ever had with track today. We headed out on a 2 mile warm up got back and figured out my v-dot. I usually get weird working out on the track. I can never run on the track well but today it changed. I really stuck with the times I was given or at least tried to stick with a solid pace and it made all the difference. I used to just go out and run them as fast as I could making my last always the worst because by the time I got to the last I was so wasted because I was running the first way to fast and not pacing it well. While running the workout I would always focus on how much I had left. If I had another lap and I was dead I would slow down and give in. It was a huge mental problem but coach fell back and ran with me during parts in today's workout, actually key parts for me. He told me to think strong thoughts and I went from whimpering to thinking just go and feeling so strong and awesome. He showed up and parts where I wanted to fall back and it made me stronger pushing through those parts. Overall this was the best workout I have ever had for track. It changed my mind in a lot of ways! I'm ready for more of these. They are not easy but if I run them right they will be more beneficial.
