a.m - I totally thought today was Monday! I remembered over New Years how I loved running with my dad! I have gotten so tied up with cross country and track that I haven't ran with him for awhile and he has stopped running. This last quarter I wrote a paper about the beginnings of my running journey and it was because of him that it all started. I used to love our early morning talks and the time. I didn't enjoy getting out of bed or in fact the running part of it but. . . I do now! I talked my dad into running with me Mondays (I thought today was Monday), Wednesdays and Fridays. So I got up this morning and I was the one waking him up! It was a great run and we got to talk just like we used too! p.m - Today might have been the biggest disappointment but we have those though! I went running in the morning, I did a good job and running everyday over the break, I lifted weights Mondays and Fridays and I was excited to run with the girls. We started over to do old man hills and I was excited because I was in shape an just ready. About the 2nd mile my knee got to the point where I couldn't extend or run on it. Coach told us to do 5 and I finish my workouts and I am physically capable of it. It got bad enough that eventually I had to stop I started running back and got to the point where I couldn't run. My house was a little ways away so I just scooted there. Diagnose : IT band!!! The trainer said he had never seen one so tight before! He did a test to see what it was and I couldn't do it and what I did was so PAINFUL! Solution: 3 IBU's every 6 hours. Stretching, ultra sounds, heat ice, roll, and well have to advance stretches from there! =(
